My wife and I cruise because we love to be at sea, our favorite is TransAtlantic. We are taking a 9 day southern Caribbean cruise in two weeks and would like to know whats available in this port other than the beaches. Thanks in advance for the info

Do a search on this board for land excursions, there are 4x4 safari island excursions and other tour operators (including your ship excursions) that provide land excursions!

We took at cab to Harrison's Cave (http://harrisonscave.com/home.php). It's in the interior of the island, and was a great way to spend an hour or so. Our taxi driver was wonderful and played tour guide on our drive to the cave and back. At the cave, there was a short, informative video before the tour that explained how Barbados was formed (not from volcanic activity, like you would expect). Then you hop on an electric tram with a tour guide for an approximately 45 min tour through the cave, which is one of the most beautiful caves I've seen (although I'm no expert on caves). We left the pier around 9am and were done with the cave tour around 11:00 or 11:15 - so you could really combine this tour with something else during your day in Barbados. Have fun!
