Thanks in advance for the info Do a search on this board for land excursions, there are 4x4 safari island excursions and other tour operators (including your ship excursions) that provide land excursions! TheVegasMan Posted January 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 27, 2009 Does that mean you do not like to snorkle either? If so, no not click on the red writing. Barbados is home to one of the surviving Concordes. (click on Concorde if you want more info.)
Aplmac Posted January 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 27, 2009 Since you're a restorer, you might like the quaint Barbados Museum just the other side of Bridgetown from where your ship will dock -a 10 min. drive Take you about an hour to do the whole thing.. jaysue Posted February 28, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 28, 2009 If you like gardens and nice walking paths, Andromeda Botanical Gardens is worthy of a visit along with nearby Bathsheeba - nice restaurant there with a great view for lunch. http://andromeda.cavehill.uwi.edu/ Cheers jaysue
cruizegurl Posted March 4, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 4, 2009 We took at cab to Harrison's Cave (http://harrisonscave.com/home.php). It's in the interior of the island, and was a great way to spend an hour or so. Our taxi driver was wonderful and played tour guide on our drive to the cave and back. At the cave, there was a short, informative video before the tour that explained how Barbados was formed (not from volcanic activity, like you would expect). Then you hop on an electric tram with a tour guide for an approximately 45 min tour through the cave, which is one of the most beautiful caves I've seen (although I'm no expert on caves). We left the pier around 9am and were done with the cave tour around 11:00 or 11:15 - so you could really combine this tour with something else during your day in Barbados. Have fun!
