LindaKE Posted February 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 1, 2009 We love Princess, expecially Anytime Dining. We're willing to go on NCL because of their Freestyle, but really prefer the quiet, more refined atmosphere of Princess. We're planning a return trip to Alaska next year. Both HAL or X have an itinerary that goes to Sitka and Hubbard Glacier which we would like to see primarily because it's different from what we saw on our Princess Alaskan cruise. Which experience would be closest to Princess?
Rare Tak8 Posted February 1, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 1, 2009 I would vote for HAL. I have been on NCL and HAL. HAL does have a little older passenger base, but still a wide variety of ages. The service and food are along the lines of Princess. They have a nice specialty restaurant. They have a terrific buffet: The Lido. I haven't been on HAL for about 3 years, but I thought I read where they were doing something similar to Princess' Anytime Dining. You may want to check out the boards on HAL and the other lines you want to compare for more help.
Rare Coral Posted February 1, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 1, 2009 I also vote for HAL - if you can get on one of the Vista class ships (their newer ones).
Shifra Posted February 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2009 Oh I definately agree....HAL would be a better choice.:)
LindaKE Posted February 1, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted February 1, 2009 For this summer itineraries, it's HAL Amsterdam or X Mercury. We are waiting for the 2010 schedules to come out, but I'm guessing that the same ships would probably do the same itinerary.
raydon Posted February 1, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 1, 2009 I would also say HAL and they have their version of anytime dining which is called "As You Wish". Donna
