seadog67 Posted February 3, 2009 #26 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Unfortunately, from the article it seems if someone handles your food and does not wash properly, that is the main way people are ingesting these parasites. So just washing our hands is not enough we have to hope anyone preparing our food has good hygeine as well. Scary in a way to think about it. Rare Cruisehappymn Posted February 3, 2009 #27 Share Posted February 3, 2009 I also keep thinking about what her husband said about if they wouldn't have found it, it would have eaten her brain like a worm in an apple. I use to think I was getting alzheimers, now I think I have worm brain.
ldarcy Posted February 3, 2009 #28 Share Posted February 3, 2009 Why hasn't anyone mentioned that they are going to be more careful eating pork (which is where it all starts!) or that they are going to stop eating in restaurants (or on cruise ships!) where you don't know the hygiene of the people cooking your food? It's funny that everyone immediately jumps on the "hand-washing" bandwagon - as Seadog67 pointed out, washing your hands or sanitizing everything in your path won't prevent this from happening!
