Prices dropped

The price on our Sea Princess cruise has dropped by £220 per person what are chances of getting a price drop or onboard credit not due to cruise untill December

If they won't give you the refund or credit, couldn't you just cancel and re-book? This early, you probably just made a deposit which is fully refundable? What sailing are you on? Where did you book the cruise, and how did you find out about the drop in price?

Check with your TA as to whether the price drop is for new bookings or if they can re-fare you. Christmas/holiday sailings are almost always booked full months (if not a year) in advance so the chances of a price drop for already-booked cabins for this peak time are minimal. Not saying it won't happen but that is the most popular time to cruise and the ships invariably sail full.

The OP is from the UK. They cannot cancel and re-book since their deposit is non-refundable.

............ and, as you are from the UK, unless you have booked through a US agent, there is absolutely no chance whatsoever of getting your cruise re-priced or your agent dropping the price.

I know that this is totally unfair but have been reliably informed that there was some sort of restrictive clause in the sale contract when Princess went from being UK owned to being owned by Carnival Corp, that does not afford us the same benefits as US bookers.

The only alternative that UK bookers have is to wait and see if the price drop is more than the deposit paid and, if so, cancel and re-book.

I have paid a £500 deposit and am coming very close to doing just that - the prices have dropped close to £500 - and there are plently of cabins left too - so going to bide my time.

Have asked my TA if there is anything they can do for me price wise - they cannot - so I will be re-booking with a US Agent and any future price drops can then be honoured. My TA will lose a sizeable sum in commission - but that is their problem!!
