Paynes bay or Folkstone

We are looking to take a GB boat to swim with the turtles as well as hang out on the beach for a bit. It seems that Payne’s bay has a better beach, but do they have GB boats that you can grab from the shore to go out with the turtles? Which is closer to the port?

Which would you recommend?

The whole West Coast is thick with watersports offerings, no matter which bay you end up at!

Here's a view of Paynes Bay..

Are there boats on Paynes Bay that will just take you out to "look" at the turtles? We have a different ship excursion at 1 pm, but would like to take a cab to the bay in the morning, and go out for a short time to see the turtles. Do we have enough time? Does anyone know how much it would cost?

  • 2 weeks later...

Also need more info on Paynes Beach. How far is it from the pier?

What would or should a taxi cost to get there and back?

Are taxis easy to find in that area?

Is there a beach fee?

Are there places to grab a bite to eat in the area?

How much do the glass bottom boats cost and is it likely that you could swim off them? I know... i know lots of queastions. One more.

Are sea turtlaes often seen there?

Thanks SO Much!!!!!

ME again.....narrowing down all the fields. Does anyone know some or all of the above answers to the questions???

It is between Folkstone and Paynes Bay. Want to hire a small glass bottom to swim and snorkle off of at the wreck and with the turtles. Also want to spend a few hours on nice clean beach. Which would be better??

All round? Paynes Bay

Just don't let the vendors hassle you too much.
