ourhoneymoon06 Posted February 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2009 Does anyone know where I can get a compact uv protective tent or shelter for 2 babies, and perhaps myself when nursing? Something cost effective would be ideal. Thanks!
AgVball Posted February 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2009 If you search this forum, you'll see some tents/cabanas that have been recommended. I was looking in to them myself (for twins), but ended up not getting one. Go to Amazon and search on "play tent" "cabana". Determine if you want one that "pops up" or one that you put together. I don't know how old your kids are and how many people will be with you. For us, it was two adults with two 10.5 month olds...I wanted something that would pop up...so that will cost more money. You will probably want something that has some vents to allow air to flow through. Some also have built in sand bags to help weight it down. You can also check ebay and sports/outdoors places. I also tried to find the tents on the vendors site to see if it had more info with how big/small the tent would be when it was folded down. The ABO tent site showed the tent looking like an outdoor chair folded up (hard to explain)...and to me, I think it would be easy to carry. Here are a couple for example: http://www.amazon.com/Pacific-Play-Tents-Cabana-Zippered/dp/B00027175S/ref=pd_sim_sg_6 http://www.amazon.com/ABO-Gear-Instent-Max-Shelter/dp/B001GAPN7S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=sporting-goods&qid=1234235321&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/Eureka-Medium-Solar-Shade-Tent/dp/B000EQCW88/ref=pd_sbs_sg_1 http://www.amazon.com/Coleman-Road-Trip-Beach-Shelter/dp/B0009PUTIE/ref=pd_sbs_sg_2 Just my $.02 from researching. thewolffs Posted February 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2009 I got the ABO Gear Aerodome. I forget where I got it. Probably on Ebay. It was SPF 50. I like it, but don't love it. It's pretty easy to put up and down. I kind of wish I got the pop-up kind, but heard that they sometimes break. The only complaint I had was that it seemed hot in the tent, unless it faced the breeze. I'd rather have one that had more ventilation. My friend has the one from One Step Ahead and loves it. gerif Posted February 10, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2009 My baby days are long over, but I use this one when traveling with my show cats - it fits neatly in a suitcase, is lightweight and assembles, breaks down quickly and easily: http://www.amazon.com/Sun-Stopr-Kwik-Cabana-II/dp/B0007V62OU

It pops up, has plenty of ventillation and is roomy enough inside for all of you! It is the family cabana and you can go to onestepahead.com to purchase it.
