geegee1 Posted February 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2009 going to be leaving on RC Explorer of the Seas in a couple of days. we have a 3yo (who's in and out of the stroller) and a 7 month old. should we bring 2 stollers, one umbrella and one regular stoller or should we bring one long double stroller? we're in a JS, so i think we'll have enough storage space for either combo. thanks
cb at sea Posted February 10, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 10, 2009 You will have plenty of storage in a JS--the walk-in closet is pretty big. I think I'd do 2 strollers--you probably won't need one for the 3 yo on the ship--there are plenty of places for him/her to sit...but you'll need one for the baby. In ports, I doubt the 3 yo will last long walking, so the 2nd stroller will come in handy.
wrp96 Posted February 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 10, 2009 I'd bring 2 strollers. You may have issues with a double stroller in places like the elevator and the hallways, which might make it more hassle than it is worth.
Julienatul Posted February 11, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 11, 2009 Im debating the same thing for our next cruise. We will have a 3.5yr old and an 8 month old. I think I am bringing the double stroller for ports and an umbrella one for the ship since my older one wont need one for on the ship.
sprite Posted February 11, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 11, 2009 I'll be on EOS soon too and with my 2.5 yo DS and 7 mo old DD. We're leaving the double stroller at home and bringing 2 lightweight combi strollers. DD will need her own stroller for the ship so we have some place to put her when she's tired but we're not ready to go to the cabin. DS will be walking around most of the time. Also, the 2 kids might not always be together as DS might got with DH or my parents and DD will be with me.
OnTheBrink Posted February 11, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 11, 2009 When we went and our kids were 8 months and 4 years, we took one stroller and a baby carrier. My son (the baby) used the stroller on the ship. My daughter (4) used the stroller in ports and the baby was in the carrier.
Kerry's Girls Posted February 11, 2009 #7 Share Posted February 11, 2009 I had a large tandem stroller, plus a single stroller in my regular-size cabin on the Golden Princess with no problem. The double stayed folded up at the back of the closet until we needed it in port, and we used the single for around the ship. I sent the single through with our luggage when we boarded and when we disembarked. Best, Mia
rebeccalouise Posted February 11, 2009 #8 Share Posted February 11, 2009 I'd get two umbrella strollers. They fold up easily and manuver great on cruise ships. I wouldn't bother with a bulky stroller.
geegee1 Posted February 12, 2009 Author #9 Share Posted February 12, 2009 thanks everybody. i think we are going to go with the two strollers. we're bringing the regular stroller, because the car seat straps right into it. thanks again
calikak Posted February 12, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 12, 2009 Whichever you choose, I'd recommend that you bring one for the 8 month old that reclines. This will facilitate napping around the ship.
