Hello everyone - Found this ste a couple days ago and my fiance is already thinking that I'm crazy addicted!

We are sailing on the Carnival Elation Baja Mexico cruise April 26 to Ensenada for our honeymoon, and we can't be more excited!

This site, for one, has been a HUGE source of info (and subsequent sleepless nights spent reading) for us...I ordered RumRunner flasks at 2am this morning, and i already got the email notification of them being shipped :p

We're going to have questions (hopefully not too many), but I just wanted to take a moment and say HI to everyone first!

HI!!! :D

Thanks y'all. Wow this forum is hoppin!

We've got an oceanview stateroom on the Upper deck forwards of midship but not too much forward... hopefully not too much up and down movement :p

Reading here about all the things to do and see and eat and play and.....makes my head explode!!

I def. want to do the casino, and the clubs (get me drunk and I karaoke), are the waterslides just for kids, or is it cool for 20-somethings too? lol

Yes, this site can be a great source of information. Ask away, hopefully someone will have the answers. Enjoy your cruise. My first cruise was to celebrate our tenth anniversary. We've gone on at least one ever since.

I am 42 and my mom is 63 and we played like kids on the slide on our Fantasy cruise in October 08. You will love it!!

Congrats on the upcoming nuptuals! Be sure to get into the ships' Newlywed/Not so newlywed game. :)

LOL Good to know the kids aren't the ones having all of the fun!

I've heard that most cruisers try and tend to stay away from honeymooners...any truth to that at all? I don't want privacy (we'll get enough of that whenever we need it), but I DO want for us to have fun and socialize. Any events taht we need to be sure to participate in? I know the dining room is good due to the big tables and such, right...? what else?

*told y'all I'd have lots of questions!

So how does one get on the "newlywed/not so newlywed game", anyhow? Sounds like fun.

Reading more on the Elation get me thinking...there has to be a "forum favourite" place to go/eat/whatever...just wondering what yours is. We like everything, and this boat, while not Oasis of the seas, sure seems big enough...almost too big for only a 4 nighter!

So what are your favorite things on the Elation for first timers?

Hi, welcome to CC from another Pacific Northwest person! :D

There are lots of activities......join in as much as you want or have some private time. Lots of things go on at the main pool area, such as the Men's Hairy Chest contest and Survivor.

You will get a Capers in your cabin each day that will outline all of the next days activities and events.

Newlywed/Not so Newlywed game is fun. They choose 3 couples.......most newly married (you might have a chance of being chosen ~ sit up front), married the longest and one couple kind of in between......usually around 25 years married. Then they send the hubby off stage and ask the wife questions which she writes on a card. Bring hubby back and they ask him the same questions and it's funny to see what the answers are. Just like the old "Newlywed Game" on TV, which I'm sure you're too young to remember! ;)

Have a wonderful Honeymoon cruise, and most of all.......have a great marriage! Congrats! :)

Yes you will have a blast on the Elation...i was on it last year she is a great Ship!....I have seen a few wedding party's on-board a ship and they always have people talking to them....dont worry about being ignored that probably wont happen....and yes go to the newlywed not so newlywed game ...it is alot of fun and you will win a gift for participating in it...They will call for newlyweds out of the Audience when it is time just raise your hands..I had a friend get called up for the game on the last cruise i was on.. I laughed my butt off all week watching them on the TV....They won it and I think all three couples received a bottle of Champaign

My wife and I were married on the Carnival Victory in 2002. I never really wanted to go on a cruise, but did it any ways. Well it was the most fantastic Wedding and Honeymoon I could have ever imagined. We have been on 4 cruises since and we are doing the Mexican Rivera in April on the Carnival Splendor. People treated us like royalty when we were on our Honeymoon. A lot of people seen us dressed up on the first day and they went out of their way to say something or offer to buy a drink or just to talk to us. We went off on the cruise because it was a second marriage for both of us an we didn't want to make a big deal about it, but it turned into a fairy tale story. We had a fantastic time and I know that you will also
