longtimecruiser Posted February 19, 2009 #26 Share Posted February 19, 2009 Brian Dear, I must correct you. Emily and Christopher are both over 100 days and already have their copper medallions. They were invited to the 11:00 brunch. Emily was even seated with the Captain as she was traveling with me. I was seated with the Captain cause I had 650 days. mamaofami Posted February 19, 2009 #27 Share Posted February 19, 2009 You should run some anti-virus protection. If not McAfee, then I suggest Norton/Symantec. That's what I have on my other computers, but first this non techi has to figure out how to uninstall macafee and install symantec. waiting for DH to help. Alexat2 Posted February 21, 2009 #28 Share Posted February 21, 2009 Seattle done a stupid thing for our recent Noordam cruise: Cabinmates who were Mariners received invitations for different luncheons! Scotty, Adele, Greg, Ruth, Mary Ellen, Richard, Ladybird and others who were over 100 days received invitations for luncheon at 11am, and those of us where under 100 days (Emily, Christopher, Judy, Koz, Myself) received invites for the 1pm luncheon! Needless to say, most of us "sub-Mariners" crashed the 11am luncheon (and there was plenty of room) but it was rude and caused much confusion to send cabinmates different invitations - some folks didn't even attend the luncheon at all due to the different invitation times. :( Unfortunately I'm not surprised... HAL has more "Cruise Staff" and other "Event Staff" onboard than any other company sailing and they're the least coordinated. I'm not sure if it's just bad management, or they've just got things so compartmentalized and micro-managed that no one know what's going on - it's really stupid. Mariners luncheons aren't the only things they majorly screw up (That's been convered in depth on the forums - do a search for Statendam WWII cruise (March '08), aka. the "cruise from hell").
