Alexis Posted February 18, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2009 hi all im a first time cruiser and will be traveling on the brilliance in july for 12 days ...... we have book room 4534 any thoughts or suggestions?? It is a good location and has a large window. Here are the details of that cabin. Two twin beds (can convert into queen-size), sitting area with sofa, vanity area and a private bathroom. (170 sq. ft.) Please note: Ocean View Staterooms on deck 2 have a porthole instead of a window. Also includes minibar, hair-dryer, TV, phone, computer jack, vanity table with an extendable working surface for laptop computers, and 110/220 electrical outlets. Some have Pullman beds and can accommodate 3-4 guests.

Hi, No window on a ship opens unless you have a balcony door.;) Click on this link below and you can see an example of your cabin. http://www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/cabinclass/cabinTypes/cabinType/cabin/home.do;jsessionid=0000Pt1X_YLkiebSdORchrUSeUm:12hbioan0?shipCode=BR&cabincls=O&cabinType=LO&br=R&deckCode=
cb at sea Posted February 18, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 18, 2009 No windows open on a ship---only doors open! It's larger than the smallest cabin, but it won't be "spacious" by any means. If there are just 2 of you, you'll be ok, but don't expect too much space. Your "large" OV is 5 sq. ft. bigger than the smallest cabin on the ship. This cabin will be fine for sleeping and showering...the rest of the ship has tons of space to hang out.

Most times the ships sail full and there are no upgrades available at the pier. Most people on board are celebrating milestones of some sort so no that really won't get you anything. Alexis Posted February 18, 2009 #9 Share Posted February 18, 2009 awwwwww do they allow you to upgrade to a balcony when you check in if so what would the average cost or any possibilty they would give it to us for free lol paying for a wedding also .... it our honeymoon and i think it would be nice to have one Here is the list of upgrading prices. They vary by ship and port as you will read. ;) Please read it carefully. You will probably be one of maybe 50+ honeymoons, not counting 50+ celebrating Anniversaries, Plus 500 celebrating Birthdays. Do not expect to receive an upgrade because you are a honeymooner. There will be many of you on board. :D You are better off to look for a balcony that drops in price and book it yourself if you really want one. Or, book a balcony guarantee now and accept where they place you. ;) Whatever you decide, Best Wishes for your wedding and have a wonderful cruise. The Brilliance is a great ship. Hi, This list was posted by Sue L on Feb. 16, 2008. It was originally put on here by CC Radio. These prices are for a 7 night cruise. They may have changed since this came out? Thanks to Radio who posted this a while back. The prices below are per cabin. . . NOT per person. . . RCI Upgrades From INSIDE to Royal Suite - $1500 Suite - $1000 Balcony - $600 Outside - $300 Inside - $100 From OUTSIDE to Royal Suite - $1200 Suite - $700 Balcony - $300 Outside - $100 From BALCONY to Royal Suite - $1000 Suite - $400 Balcony - $100 From SUITE to Royal Suite - $800 Suite - $400 those are the prices from the Pier Coordinator ONLY. (RCI Revenue Dept (Miami)). If you board the ship and upgrade at the Guest Relation desks (On Board SHIP revenue Dept.) . . . the price you would pay is usually MUCH Higher. Here is a reminder. . . You must check in fully at the check in desk, and when they hand you your Sea Pass card. . .then it is OK to go to the Pier Coordinator to inquire about an upgrade. Another posting by CC Radio. The regular Check In Counters at the Pier are for the Ships' Network(ex: Liberty of the Seas). The Pier Coordinator will have a list of how many and what type of Cabins that were unbooked prior to the Sail date. The pier coordinator is UNABLE to check in your Set Sail Pass. You must check in FIRST. . .then you can ask to speak to the Pier Coordinator. The No-Shows (Customers who are booked, but never show up at the pier)are handle differently. . . Those Upgrades may be purchased from the Guest Services Desk (Pursers Desk) However. . . those usually are at a much higher cost than the Pier Coordinator. While the Ship is at the Pier. . .It belongs to Miami, and when the ship leaves the dock any upgrade would be a part of the Ship's Onboard Revenue. (profit ) This was also posted to the same thread: :Originally Posted by cruiseloverandagent Anyone can upgrade on any ship. It's a first come/first serve kind of thing. The prices vary by ship/cruise length. cruiseloverandagent is a pier coordinator in Galveston.
cb at sea Posted February 18, 2009 #10 Share Posted February 18, 2009 I would definitely book one now, if one's available. RCI has some of the smallest cabins at sea... Most times, there's nothing "good" available on the day of sailing!
