Cashless Casino. How does it work?

Do they charge a fee for using your cruise card? Maybe I'm thinking of HAL ships, but I thought I read that they charge you a fee to use your cruise card at the casino?

If you get cash at the cage you pay 3%. If you use your ship card at a slot machine, the amount you choose gets charge to your shipboard account with no upcharge. If you just want cash immediately, you sign into the slot machine, select the amount you want and then cash out. You go to the cage, they give you the $$$; no upcharge. This may sound confusing, but once you see it/do it; quite simple. Anyone, employee or passenger will show you how.

I just can't figure out why the people playing right beside me always hit the bonus rounds and win the big jackpots, what am I doing wrong?

Last week on the Ruby the lady beside me won $2300.00 on a 1 cent machine. That's just not right... :D

I believe the question is "do the slot machines take cash?", answer is yes.

Question, "do slot machines take coins?", answer is no. Question, "do slot machines payoff in coins?", answer is NO, they give you a voucher to be taken to the cashier for cash.

At the tables I believe is the same system that is universal in casinos. Give the dealer the US cash, he gives you chips, you gamble with the chips and he wins the chips.

Good luck!!!

See, it all sounds like good clean fun -- until you get to this point . . . !

Can the money on the card just apply to your open balances? That is, if you have $500 in Casino money on the card, but owe $600 in ship charges, can you just leave the Casino money to pay off your other charges? It seems that would be much easier than cashing out the $500 and paying the $600 as a separate charge.

Nope, they won't transfer the cash over to your shipboard account. Even though you use one card for both your shipboard account and casino bank, they are two totally different accounts.

But it's very easy to cash out at the casino cage, and then take that cash to the pursers desk to apply towards your shipboard account.

I love the new casino method. No more standing around waiting for jackpot pay outs and a supervisor to sign the slip. No more machines running out of coins and having to wait for it to be filled. And no more dirty hands trying to scoop up the coins and carry them to the cashiers cage. It's great!
