The windows are more like telescopes, where you look thru a tube, where you are looking thru the hull of the ship. Not as good as a flat pane of glass, but you can see outside and what the weather is. My only picture has my sister in between the port holes, so Id rather not post it.

I also booked a 5A stateroom w/ 2 portholes for my cruise. Although, I believe our room is 1220. (It should be the same though)

 

If you just google 5A stateroom on Carnival Valor, you should find some pictures. I found this one just to give you a heads up as to what the portholes look like.
