Dry Dock Schedule

Does this mean no piano bar on the Rotterdam after drydock? On a cruise that's my favorite place in the evening provided the pianist knows his/her stuff. I will be very disappointed.

It will be a very different type of piano bar---especially for the Rotterdam, which didn't have a true piano bar anyway. It had a piano lounge.

If it follows the design of the Veenadm, there will be an area with a piano/piano player, and seats at the piano. There will be some tables in the area, too.

The difference between that, and a true piano bar, is that it will be contiguous with other bars/entertainment areas, rather than a separate room. Another difference from the current Rotterdam, is that you will be able to sit at the piano! :)

as I've posted before on here...the HAL corporate ne'er do wells emit their buffoonery on all of us because they only sit behind a desk.. they have no idea what people like and don't like in the real world .. can you imagine if they lowered themselves and actually read a few of these threads on CC... or for that matter actually went on a cruise themselves.. yowsa..

'if it ain't broke...leave the darn thing alone'.. guess they never heard of that.. all they know in that ivory tower in Seattle is the potential for more $$$$$$ 'ON PAPER' trying to reinvent the wheel with their cockamamy ideas.. sometimes it doesn't pay off...

hopefully they'll leave the Maasdam alone.. I like my Seaview pool:p:D

Major

The Piano Bar and the Casino Bar will be gutted and transformed into a new concept called "Mix" which will have three bars serving Martinis, Champagne and Spirits & Ales

42 cabins on Lower Promenade Deck will be reclassified as "Lanai Cabins" with direct exterior access via sliding door to that same deck.

The main show lounge will be redecorated into more of a night club feel called "Showroom at Sea".

A high-end jewelry boutique called "Marbella" will be added forward of the Explorers Lounge.

Existing cabins will receive upgrades include new decor, carpeting and soft goods.

Routine dry-dock maintenance to the ship's interior and exterior will be performed (paint, carpeting, repairing, replacing, etc.)

Ryndam will NOT lose her current Seaview/aft pool in favor of the "Retreat" wading pool moved one deck up, nor will she receive the new staterooms where the current pool is now and the accompanying ugly-a$$ rear end (like the Veendam got)

Ryndam will NOT receive her forward "spa staterooms" with enhanced spa amenities and accompanying extended Bridge wings which will prevent her weight & ballance to go completely out of whack (like the Veendam got)

Hi Krazy Cruisers

Any idea what will be done to the Statendam when she goes into Dry Dock !!!
