Lobster?

Taking our first cruise, going to Mex Riv. My lovely wife loves lobster, is there a lobster night or is lobster on the menu in the main dining rooms?

There is a seafood night. It's normally fish, with a 1/2 of a lobster tail. Yes, 1/2 of a tail. LOL And, they are small lobsters (rock or caribbean) not Maine lobsters.

If you wife really loves lobster, and doesn't like fish (like me) just tell her to tell the waiter to "hold the fish" and bring 1 or 2 extra lobster tails. They will gladly accomodate.

If you want "real" Maine lobster, it is served in some the surcharge restaurants.

And, you can always ask the wait staff to bring a 2nd. serving of lobster (frozen tails) only when it's served in the main dining rooms - ask the ship staff as they know the weekly routine so you can plan ahead & not book the steakhouse.

P.S. The joke on the Dawn when we're sailing in 2005 was that many ate doubles at 5:30 p.m. & went to the show, got hungry, return to the smaller Aqua dining room for a 2nd. round of dinner of double lobster tails only at 9 p.m. .... The chef's count of total meals, especially lobsters served for that evening just didn't add up & reported it to the captain.

for mentioning this. 1 lobster night per week of the cruise. They do have a combo night with what was left, if any. The Rock lobster comes on the shell which the waiter removes unless you know how to do it. You can get as many as you want. Then near end of cruise they have seafood linquine, or other ideas, with everything left in it from the seafood onboard. The escargot is different on ships. Dawn was serving it with the butter on the side, Jewel with the wrapped butter due to illness had the butter in the escargot making it very messy to eat & folks like me that do not like the butter didn't enjoy it. If seafood is cooked perfectly no butter is needed.
