Fat Tire Bike Tour or London Tours?

CanWeGoYet?

Recommended Posts

Trying to decide between tours for London, this will be our first visit and only here for the weekend in may - leaving on monday.

If we do the walking tour, we can do this on our first day in london. If the bike tour, it's only offered once a day & I don't think we'll be in london early enough to do this saturday, we would end up going on the bike tour on sunday. Any feedback from those who have gone on these tours?

Which London Tour are asking about? There must be dozens of companies that offer tours. My personal favorite is London Walks. I recommend London Walks http://www.walks.com to anyone healthy enough to walk for a couple of hours.

I have not taken a Fat Tire Bike Tour and know no one that has. I am skeptical of their #1 ranking on sister site TripAdvisor. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g186338-Activities-London_England.html I suspect shenanigans are involved in rating the bike tours above Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, the British Museum, and a hundred other attractions. It would be nice if a disinterested poster would take the Fat Tire Bike Tour and report back to us.

Yes, I posted incorrectly but that is the tour I had in mind. They offer so many tours, for a general overview I am not sure which one I should aim for.

I have found many positive reviews of the Fat Tire bike tours by googling. I like the idea of either walking or being on a bike much more than riding on a bus. The bike tour is 4 hours long & apparently covers a lot of ground.

The weekend overview walks would be THE LONDON TOUR - Westminster & the West End on Sunday http://www.walks.com/Homepage/Sundays_Walks/default.aspx#12916 or THIS IS LONDON! The Flash-Bang-Lightning Highlights Tour! http://www.walks.com/Homepage/Saturdays_Walks/default.aspx#12782

Visit your choice of the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, St. Paul's Cathedral or the British Museum on you own and you will have a great introduction to London. (The churches are not open for touring on Sundays.)

Add in a pub walk for an introduction to that culture and you will find that there is no reason to go to the theatre.

Perhaps my skepticism is unwarranted. Pedaling around London in good weather would be fun.

Different city, I know, but we took a tour with Fat Tire in Barcelona, and loved it. With only one day, it's a nice way to get a taste of the city. I think we are going to do the same thing when we are in London.
