Airline Problems Turkey to Europe to U.S.

Has anyone had difficulty getting ticketed all the way from Turkey to the U.S. if they make a stop in Europe? I was told that some passengers had to get boarding passes at the European stop and go thru security again, which caused them to almost miss their connection.

Flew years ago, on Air France. We stayed in Paris, each direction.

 

We have recently flown from Athen to Paris on to San Francisco on the same day. Found that our Air France flight did wait for incoming flights from other countries. Air France even met our flight incoming, picked us up and transported us to the new check in site because we had less than an hour for our connection. We ran all the way, then found we sat on our Air France flight another 2 hours while they waited for other passengers.

 

So if Air France works for you - you might check with them about.

The answer to your question would really depend on which European airport and whether there are terminal changes. You can try the Cruise Air Board (as suggested above) but make sure you post very specific info regarding the airline and airport.

the most comprehensive frisking I ever got was in Istanbul. The Turks have a real problem with some Muslim extremists and their protocol is to check, recheck and then check again. It just may be the protocol here is extra careful and there may be no way around it except for a non stop flight....
