HELP! I have a question about the Legend...

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

First, a little background. My family and I have been on 3 cruises: RCCL Explorer of the Seas; Carnival Glory; and, Disney Magic. We loved the fact that the Explorer had darker places at night where you could see the stars (i.e., the decks weren't all lit up like the Glory), but food was so-so. We hated the Glory's layout, but the food and service was very good. We loved the Disney magic...but hated the price.

We're looking at a Thanksgiving cruise on the Legend. I know the layout is different than the Glory, but here are my 3 questions:

1. Can you walk on a deck all the way around the outside of the ship?

2. Is there a "darker" area at night on a deck where we could see the stars?

3. Is there shuffleboard and ping pong anywhere?

Many thanks,

Karen

If I recall, you can walk all the way around the top. The Lido deck is very different on the Legend than the Glory - it is not stadium style and is more enclosed - check out the deck plans on line and you will see what I mean. I think it did feel darker, though we get a balcony and watch the stars from there. There is ping pong, and I believe one of the lower decks had marking for shuffleboard.

I am not sure about the Legend because I was on it a long time ago. On most ships you can walk all the way around. It is on one of the lower decks. It will take you all the way up to the bow. Just ask some one when you board. Tell the you want to get up to the bow. Also shuffleboard is on that deck. That deck is also seldom used and dark at night. I like to go out there and puff my cigar. It is also very romanitc. {ing pong is available on all ships. I hope that helps. bon voyage...

Unfortunately there are alot of lights outside and they are visable from the decks...as another poster said, the balcony (if you get one) is a good place to see the stars. But as an aside, the aft adult pool area is usually a wonderfully peaceful place at nite....we spent much of our time back there. There is a bar that is open at nite, but most people are going to shows, the casino and the bars. There were hardly ever more than a handful of people back there in the evenings. And I'm not sure, but I think that area of the Glory may be enclosed (it's enclosed by glass on Destiny)...but on the Legend it is open to the ocean, so very peaceful, relaxing and romantic. The Legend is our favorite ship...I think you will enjoy her!:)

I loved the layout of the Legend. Very easy to get around. The Glory I didn't like the layout of it much at all. I really didn't care for the stadium deck layout at all.

I've been on the Miracle which is the same design as the Legend. I believe the Atlantic deck has an outside promenade that goes all the way around. When we got to the aft it was a little tricky. There were a few doors to go through and things to go around, but we found our way.
