What are the Stateroom Cateogies?

Why do the staterooms have letters next to them? I've tried searching this forum and google, to no avail.

 

I see two of the same description rooms given different letters and sometimes different prices... is this because of the deck you are on?

Your catagories are Inside stateroom, Oceanview, Balcony, JS, OS, GS and then you get to the REALLY BIG SUITES!

For instance an E catagory has a balcony, but is smaller than a D catagory. The little numbers next to the Letter indicates either location or bedding type.

You really need to have the deck plans in front of you, so you'll know exactly what you're buying, and where it is!

Ok, I get that much... For instance, the inside cabins have L M N Q.

 

I don't see any difference other than the decks. Is that what the difference is?

Yes, more desirable locations are given a different code (even though the actual cabin space is identical) and could have higher prices.
