You definitely have mine. Our God is able to do "exceeding abundant beyond all that we ask or think"

I don't like chocolate so don't worry they are not a temptation for me.:D

I'm not a big chocolate fan either. Now if those cupcakes were red velvet or spice or yellow or lemon or well, anything else that would be a different story.

Just a sideline idea......got an e-mail today and during the months of Sept-Oct-Nov-Dec they have some really neat specials going on room rates at Excalibur in Vegas for $22-$34 a night.........looking good
Wow! What great rates for Vegas. I've stayed at Excalibur before. Currently I'm looking at rates for MGM Grand and Luxor for this September when we are going for hubby's bday. (I have a room reserved off strip but I don't think I'll be happy with it so I'm doing more research.)

Take care and thanks for keeping our little meet and greet idea alive.
Saturday is my DD's party to celebrate her law school graduation/bar taking. We have kept it small - mostly family. However, in my usual fashion I have gotten all flustered and nervous about the house, yard, pool, etc. DD came today and cleaned the house (she starts her job Monday), DH is working on the pool and I am working on the yard, sunroom, etc. I still have to grocery shop and do a million other things. I wish I could just relax. After all it is just family and a little pool party.

Next week I really plan to get my eating back on track. I have been so tired since the cruise. I think we just went, went too much. I tried to keep up with a 27 year old and that is hard. This is one of my busiest times at work and I really should not have taken off last week but some things only come around once in a lifetime.

Well back to stressing about the party.

Wishing you a wonderful celebration party!!! Everything will be perfect.

Happy Thursday!

Here's hoping you have a great time. Don't over do and wear your self out to the point of exhaustion and not be able to enjoy the party.
BTY....was thinking when all is said and done we both need to meet somewhere in the middle of Middletown and Cincy to have lunch and meet.

Do you have a players card for any of the casino/hotels.
We had stayed at MGM,Excalibur,Luxor,Treasure Island, South Point, Bally's and Golden Nugget, I think you'd enjoy onstrip better and the rates are just as reasonable. Are you going to have a car.
Wish we could join you there.
What all are you planning on doing and how long are you going to be there?

Well I'm off to bed.......Goodnight my Friends

DH and I are scheduled to go to Vegas at the end of October. He has not been on a vacation in a while and we got a great rate at Flamingo - $145 total for 5 nights (and one is a Friday). We leave on a Monday and return on Halloween. We really love to go once a year (I would go more often if I could).

Vickey - I would love to get together. It is not far. Also, the meet and greet sound wonderful and like a lot of fun!

Well the pool looks great. We have had such a problem with algae this year with all the rain. Off work at 1:00 today and then back to getting ready. It would really be a wonderful day just to relax in the pool - 88 degrees and sunny. But tomorrow looks great too.

Have a good day all ;)

Vickey: I don't have a players card since I don't really gamble but we've stayed at the TI and MGM Grand about a dozen times so I get repeat customer offers - some good some not so great. But I do find that the summer rates are the best (maybe because it is 112 degrees!) I agree that I'd be happy on-strip. Last trip it was off strip only because my son decided at the last minute to get married in Vegas! We got a great rate on an Embassy Suites which worked wonderfully for the occassion. (I was too cheap to pay $295 a night for a standard room on the strip when I could pay $105 for a suite and have a free breakfast.)

Anyhoo..... enough rambling on my part. I wanted to check in and say hi before I head off to the office. My stomach is hollering to feed it.

Oh, by the way.... I ran with my hubby at Back Bay last night and we ran all 22 of the berms that they have along the trail - all uphill. I'm already feeling sore in my rear and thighs. So yesterday was a good day for exercise and I was under my calorie limit so I earned a smiley face for the day. :) :) (Ok, maybe two!)

Love to all,
B

In spent my day building my budget until December 2011 and I realized that without making any travelling sacrifice, I can pay off my debts, including my morgage by December 2012 or 2013 if I decide to have myself a brand new house which would be self suffisant in heating and electricity. I would use Geothermal energy and solar roofing. All the excess energy coming in my house would be sold to Hydro-Quebec

Now I will go out and take a walk. Hubby is arriving in 90 minutes, and that gives me plenty of time to walk off the calories I didn't burn. Good thing I forgot to eat... I was so concentrated!!

By the way, today is sunny and hot around here... Finally, we are having several consecutive sunny days!!

My hubby and I had a date night tonight. Knowing that I would probably consume more calories eating out that eating in - I got my tushy on the treadmill and did a half hour before hubby got home from work. (We are kid-less until tomorrow night when my daughter comes home from camp.)

I looked at the nutrition info before we went to the restaurant so that I could make some informed food choices. I ordered a cup of hearty veggie soup (60 calories) and a Cobb Salad with bleu cheese on the side (550 calories) I inhaled everything since I had eaten really lite all day. They served cornbread on the side which I didn't eat - but... I did take it home for later. So now the bread is calling to me and I've resisted thus far. If I cave in I'll be over my calorie limit.

Today, I went out for another walk outside in my Jeans... It is hot and humid... I my have sweated off a few more calories that way expressio53.gif

Yesterday I entered the pet shop to get some foods for my two cats and I saw the most adorable little kitty. She was with her brother and he is so cute too. I fell in love and now I have to convince hubby.... pray.gifpray.gifpray.gif Wish me luck!!

Vickey, are you ok? Your message was so short, I feel that you are not feeling so good today. I am worried about you. It must be so hard to keep your spirits up these days. Give us some news please.

Maybe we could arrange a get together around September 13. I'll be in Toronto for business on that day and I could easily extend my stay. If anyone would be interested, we could meet in Niagara Falls on the 12th, it is a Saturday. If I am not mistaking, I will have to be in Toronto at 8:30 or 9 am on the Sunday morning.

Vickey - I just checked in and worried about you too. Please let us know how you are.

Well we had DD's grad/bar party yesterday. Weather was mostly sunny, hot and everyone came we expected plus a few more. Had a good time, kids enjoyed the pool.

Everyone started packing up to go home and then things spiraled downhill in a hurry. My DMIL fell leaving the bathroom. Luckily DDIL and DN are both nurses and they were there. After a few moments we realized we need to call the paramedics as her leg was turned in an unnatural position and she could not move it. She was also bleeding from her arm but that was not serious. She was taken to the hospital and told almost immediately she had broken her hip. We were at the hospital till midnight.

This morning she had surgery for a partial hip replacement. She will be in the hospital several days but she got through the surgery very well - considering she is in her 80's and has other health problems. Not a good ending to the party at all...I just left the hospital. We are hopeful all will go well. She will go to a rehab facility for a while and then hopefully back to her retirement home. Her 3 sons are with her now.

I do not go near pet stores for the reason they follow me home.

Sorry to hear your MIL fell but glad to hear she will be on the mend. Please get yourself some rest after such a stress full night. I'll keep her in my prayers.

I meet with my doctor Tuesday for the finale meeting with all test results in and then we will know where everything stands.

Friday I had a cystoscopy and am really sore from it so I havne't felt much like doing much of anything just making ever day count and filling it up with all I can get done.

As always taking day by day.

Here's hoping everyone has a good weekly weigh in Monday:)

Marsha, I really hope DMIL gets through this alright. I also hope you and DH will be able to rest after last night.

Vickey, keep us posted as soon as you can. I hope you get good news pray.gif

I am not doing much these days. I guess I am a little worried. As soon as I am home from my appointment with the OBGYN tomorrow, I'll let you know what is going on with me.

Take care every one 11_7_102.gif

This morning, I am at 161.8. I am really proud of myself, I only gained 1 lb and I am in the middle of red weeks. I really hope the doctor is able to operate me before my November cruise or else, I will be in my red weeks for the whole cruise :eek::eek:

I hope I can give you an answer this afternoon.

Speak to you later waving2.gif

Good morning all. I am reporting in at 199.4. I was out all weekend getting things ready for our picnic we had yesterday with my inlaws and maid of honor and best man from the wedding. Good good food. and good good company.

Dominique, i know what you mean when you go to the pet store an see the pets that you want. They break my heart going in there and seeing them. I wish that I could take them all home with me. But last weekend we did get the new Kitty. He is so precious. i will try and post a picture later to show you how cute he is.

Good afternoon everyone!

New member here. I'd like to lose about 12 pounds, but also tone up and build a little muscle.

I had a horrible night's sleep last night, so all I've had is a cup of coffee.

Heading out for lunch today - hopefully somewhere semi-healthy, like Taco Bell.

Good evening everyone!

Elenna - WELCOME! Feel free to participate in our little support group - we post our weights (and measurements if known) on Mondays. Good luck with the 12 lbs. (I love the carmel apple empanadas at Taco Bell. mmmm)

Matt: It's good to see you around. Sounds like a great get together! Good company always outweighs good food. :)

Missou: Congrats on your weigh in. (Despite your errr.. circumstances... you did awesome!) Wishing you the best with your dr. appointment tomorrow.

Vickey: Praying for you for your appointments tomorrow. I wish you all the best .... waiting is always the hardest...

RQINFL: Two workouts a day - you are motivated! Good job!

My Monday weight in: 115.2. :D:D I could cruise today and be happy because I have essentially met my goal. If I lose another pound or two it will give me some room to gain due to the 5 meals a day that I will eat on my cruise! :p

I was REALLY good yesterday at my dad's b-day party.... no appetizers or snacky type food that was out, no cake - and it was CARROT CAKE - YUM! I had a Nutrigrain cereal bar to satisfy my sweet tooth instead. Also, for the BBQ, I had 1/2 of a hamburger but did have small portions of the side dishes; pasta salad, potato salad, baked beans and a big serving of green salad with the Wish Bone red wine vinegar spritzer. Overall I did good considering....

I'm on day 21 of my 30 day challege - the good days have outweighed the bad by far but I've cheated a little. I'll continue the challenge for the entire 30 days because I have a few more life events that will present some not so good food options...I just can't fall apart this close to the finish line.

Once again I've rambled.. sorry.

Take care,

B

Finally able to post, tried doing early this morning but couldn't. :o I weighted my self I'm down to 129.4. But had Mexican today and some cokes... LOL that's not good. Plus may be doing with my period this week.. So going to at least try to keep to my 129.4 next week. Hopefully I will lose some more. But with this week coming put it will be hard.

I don't know what I should thing of my OBGYN anymore. I called him when I was in France and he told me I had several uteran fibroïds and now he tells me I only have one, I also have several polips and hyperplasia in the uterus. Nothing serious and easily treatable with hormonal therapy. I tell him that my neurosurgeon told me that I could not have an hormonal therapy because of the head trauma I had when I had been hit by a car in 1987. The neuro surgeon had told me the therapy could increase my neurological aftereffects. That is not something I want!!! The OBGYN gave me a prescription for an hormonal therapy anyway  I told him that I did not want to start the therapy before the end of my cruise. He goes ahead and tells me I have to start it this coming Thursday and that I was being too difficult :eek:

10489.gif Can you listen to your patients for heaven's sakes???? 10489.gif

I haven't seen my neuro-surgeon in a little less than 20 years, but now, I am seeing a neurologist. I called him about this and he should get back to me tomorrow. I'll tell him that I really feel uncomfortable with the idea of starting an hormonal therapy after what has been said to me.
