Central London to Southhampton for 6 people

We need to travel from a central London hotel to Southhampton for a cruise in May and wonder if there is a cheaper way than the Cunard transfer, for the 6 of us (and our luggage). Any ideas?

If you have a lot of luggage, you're going to need a large van if you go via a private car and driver. Another choice is the bus that will take you from Victoria Station to Southampton. And then you can take the train to the Southampton Station, but that can be a hassle if you have lots of luggage as you have to handle everything yourself.

Thanks for your help. This is my first post and I had no idea of the forums for individual places. I'd like to get info on what and how to get around ports in the Western Mediterranian so guess there is a forum for this area.
