libbydic Posted November 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2004 We are booked on Caribbean Princess on the 2/5/05 sailing in a BB cabin R607 but I just realized we are below the Lido deck and am worried about noise from above, I was just checking and realized that room B757 on Baja deck is available and was thinking about switching. Does anyone know would this be a good switch?? Is that far aft a better location than what I have now. Thanks
sue d. miller Posted November 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2004 I would pick an aft cabin overlooking the wake in a heartbeat!!!! :D
Rare geoherb Posted November 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Me too. Take the aft cabin. (Although we've twice been on the Aloha Deck of the Golden Princess, which is under the Lido Deck on it, and never had any problems with nice from above.) CruiseFever Posted November 25, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Run, don't walk, to the phone and make the switch! We had B753 on the Caribbean Princess (CB) last summer and will have B755 on our 12/18 CB sailing. Totally awesome cabin

libbydic Posted November 25, 2004 Author #7 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Is there too much movement in the back. I don't get seasick but you never know?? P.S. Loved the video
sue d. miller Posted November 25, 2004 #8 Share Posted November 25, 2004 There is no more movement there than the rest of the ship!! If it is rockin, the whole ship is. Get Bonine!!!! :)
CruiseFever Posted November 25, 2004 #9 Share Posted November 25, 2004 All I can tell you is that we always select an aft cabin and have never had a problem in this area. Me and the two teen kids take/do nothing for motion discomfort and DW takes a bonine every day just to be safe.

bjboothman Posted November 25, 2004 #12 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Chris, that was just toooooo cool. Thanks for posting. I'm counting the days ------, although my aft view will have to come from the public areas :-(
garycarla Posted November 26, 2004 #13 Share Posted November 26, 2004 re: comment about movement in a certain part of the ship. I know people talk all the time about low and center, but gee whiz, how does one part of the ship move and not the rest? Yea, there is some physics thing, but only to an extreme. If the ship is moving, it pretty much all moves.
SHayesShip Posted November 26, 2004 #14 Share Posted November 26, 2004 You wouldn't be saying this if you were in the forward cabin of a ship in 20' seas and major swells. You literally come off the bed at times. Whereas on the same ship but in a middle cabin you will feel just a simple back and forth rolling sensation. Druke I Posted November 26, 2004 #17 Share Posted November 26, 2004 Garycarla Think of the pitch of a ship as being akin to a teeter-totter. If you are in the center, there is little movement, but if you are either end, there is a lot of movement. That analogy does not hold true for roll of a ship.
