Car rental?

Has anyone ever rented a car for the day while in port in Curacao? I'm interested and would appreciate anyones experiences and opinions. :)

We rented a jeep for about 65$ USD per day. We rented it from the lobby of Breezes Curacao, apparently they have the best prices.

Robyn, thanks for the info. How was the traffic and driving conditions and how did you get to Breezes? Is it near the pier?

I didn't really have an issue with traffic, but I did have an issue with the local drivers! Apparently the speed limit ( lucky if you can find a sign with it posted!) is not something people really care about. I don't believe we were in any real danger, but I would advise anyone driving in Curacao to be aware of the drivers around you! The roads themselves are in decent condition. We drove around the entire island and did not encounter any roads that we felt were unsafe. There are a lot of "curvy and windy" roads near the beach areas.....drive slowly or you may miss the entrance to the beach.

 

Breezes is located about a 10-15 minute drive from the pier. :)

We are renting a vehicle for the same price at the pier. It doesn't make any sense to me why you would take a taxi back and forth from Breezes.
