Palma de Mallorca Volcano

Recommended Posts

I am intersted in seeing the volcanoes here. I can find info about the volcanoes themselves but nothing about transportation to to get there. I know I can take a cab for about 25 euro each way but that's all I know.

Would a cab wait for you for the return trip?

Anyone ever done this that can give any advice?

Are there alternate methods to get there like a bus service or the like?

I've done a search and can't find a reference to volcanoes in Majorca - although the Port de Soller certainly has some resemblance to a caldera.

Might it be the island of Las Palmas or La Palma (Gran Canaria) both in the Canary Islands where there are some spectacular volcanoes and rock formations as a result of volcanic activity? If so, they're well worth a visit. (Lanzarote has perhaps the most extensive and amazing example - the Timanfaya National Park should not be missed if you visit this island in the Canaries.)

I think you might mean La Palma which is volcanic and in the Canaries. We had a holiday there last year and it is apparently very common to confuse the two. The tour guide at our hotel said they have people regularly arriving in La Palma thinking they are in Majorca.

It's an interesting island and not very commercialised.
