happygal74 Posted March 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2009 We are cruising on Carnival Triumph in 2 weeks. Our stops are San Juan, St. Thomas and St. Maarten. We have an 11 month old. I was just planning on bringing all of the diapers we'll need, but my husband thinks we should bring some and then restock at one of the ports. What do you all think? OnTheBrink Posted March 16, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2009 Bring them all! I wouldn't want to risk not finding what I need in one of the ports. There are a lot of things you can do without. Diapers do not fall in that category!

I would bring your own, if you have to have a bag just for the diapers. You might be able to find them in them ports but the prices might be higher and not in the brand that you like. happygal74 Posted March 16, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted March 16, 2009 That's what I was thinking! Thanks for validating it :)
notentirelynormal Posted March 16, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 16, 2009 And do you really want to spend your day looking for diapers to buy - or seeing the island? Another suggestion, pack the diapers in different suitcases so in case on suitcase goes missing, you still have diapers.
PEMCO007 Posted March 16, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 16, 2009 Take your own, we had a right nghtmare when we run out of wipes, ended up spending around £12 for a pack in Norway!
c-cruise Posted March 16, 2009 #7 Share Posted March 16, 2009 We bring only a day or two supply on the plane and then buy what we need for the cruise in the departure port. We bring a duffle bag folded up in our suitcase and then pack it with all the baby supplies that we need and check it onto the ship. Definitely wouldn't want to spend our limited time in port looking for diapers.
cb at sea Posted March 16, 2009 #8 Share Posted March 16, 2009 Bring EVERYTHING you'll need---there's no guarantee you'll find what you want, or have the time to search for it!
lamolesky Posted March 17, 2009 #9 Share Posted March 17, 2009 I agree, we ran out the last day and luckily NCL had them in the gift shop. They were expensive and a generic type brand that I did not like at all. We pack all the baby stuff that will be used up in a soft or foldable bag that will go into one of our suitcases when empty at the end of the cruise. geegee1 Posted March 18, 2009 #11 Share Posted March 18, 2009 My 3 yo caught a virus on our last cruise while we in port at St Thomas. I had to buy a 24 pack of diapers at one of the convenience stores for the same price that it costs for a big box at home. And it wasn't the brand we usually use. PattyW Posted March 18, 2009 #12 Share Posted March 18, 2009 We fly in the day before and would pick up a pack in our departure port so as to not take up luggage space. Did the same with formula and nursery water, when we needed that as well.
