DUBAI cruise terminal

HI, anyone know approx. fare of a taxi from airport to the cruise terminal? We will be arriving at the airport about 7am. and plan to go to the cruise terminal and wait there till boarding begins----what are the facilities like at the terminal?

We were in Dubai last October and there really wasn't a cruise terminal. They are filling the sea in the area around where the ship docked so there was a lot of dust and sand. They did have a tent set-up and taxis were available outside. Things change a lot so they may have moved where the ships dock now. I understood that where we were docked was where the Queen Mary was going to be.

There is a very large marquee set up at the port - just as good as a cruise terminal. Airport taxis always cost more than the other ones, so expect to pay about 40-50 dirhams to the cruise terminal (you'll need to show your cruise tickets at the gate).

We arrived about 8 am and went straight there. Check in wasn't until 10 but they will take your luggage from you. We quickly grabbed a change of shirt and shoes and then left everything with them and went back into town.

 

The cruise terminal, as I'll call it, has a cafe, a few shops, a currency exchange, a wifi area, information desk and some comfy seating. There are two sections of it, connected by a corridor which leads to the cafe. We did spot a National with a display of birds of prey when we got off the ship (we docked overnight in Dubai), but don't know if that sort of thing will be there when checkin begins. We travelled on Costa but not sure which line you're using but the terminal will be the same (the QE2 is docked there as well).

Thanks we are with RCL, also docked there overnight---we have been to Dubai before so may just wait at the terminal till boarding.
