Beach / other options with kids

Recently canceled my original plan with Glory Tours, see my other post in that thread for reasons.

 

Would welcome recommendations for a beach to visit with kids (i.e. small or no surf). We have an 11 year old and a 6 year old. How is Accra beach in that respect?

 

Where is Accra? Could we combine with a visit to the Green Monkeys? That is the other option we're considering. Or is there another beach nearby that would work out better?

 

We're not really into the caves, but like the monkeys and turtles and beaches. Is there a beach where you can see turtles or are they only seen via snorkeling boats?

 

Your help is welcome here, as we leave in less that 2 weeks!

You're thinking West Coast, not Accra on the South.

 

Think Holetown for beach,

with water skiing and glass bottom boats available(turtles too no doubt)

-and with monkeys inland about 5? miles further North

assuming you're going to Wildlife Reserve near Farley Hill and Grenade Hall Signal Sta

(all three in the same area)

Folkestone is a bit North of Holetown...about half-mile?

but you can walk it on the beach.

I'm confused. Is Holetown the beach we would want to go to or is Folkstone? Not sure where to see monkeys is the wild life reserve in farley hill the way to go?

 

Aplmac - any pics of the beaches you would recommend on the west side and which to ask a cab to take us to?

 

I understand the monkeys are more active after lunch time, so perhaps we could hit a beach in the AM and then see the monkeys. Do you think we can get a cab driver who will want to do this?

 

I'm thinking depending on what we want to do, we may go to a beach (Accra/Rockley) or just do a ship's tour of the wild life reserve/monkey encounter. Maybe trying to do both a beach and monkeys is too much?

Maybe trying to do both a beach and monkeys is too much? ===> That's why Holetown(or Mullins) Beach is a good one

West Coast beaches like Holetown and Mullins

aren't too far away from Wildlife Reserve where you'll see the monkeys,later in the day!

Have you had a look at a map of the island, yet?

That usually helps. ;)

Google Earth is a satellite imagery viewing program.

Even better than a map.

I welcome the directions on how to use maps and the internet too, not as helpful though. I guess I asked the questions, so I should take whatever reply is given.
