First let me say thanks:D to all that posted on my first thread. You were very helpful, but I do have some more questions:

Cruising on Carnival Sensation May 7-May 10 and wondering whats the best transportation from Orlando Airport(MCO) to Port Canaveral? (I do know Carnival offers it but wondering if anything cheaper)

I have tried to call passport office and they always have me on hold forever:mad: Just making sure a passport's not need to sail to the Bahamas?

Are beach towels provided? Can you take them off ship?

Is the casino cash only?

Are there smoking areas(Hubby smokes)?

We don't want to use credit card for ss card onboard we can use cash correct:o?

Are jeans acceptable in dining room? What about tennis shoes?

Does anyone know what day is formal dining?

Is there a pool in the adults only area?

Are hairdryers provided?

I know there is a laundry, but does anyone know how much it cost?

All our docs are going to be done online, is this also where we get luggage tags? And can you print out as many as needed (just in case we mess some up)?

I think thats all for now. Sorry if its too much but just needed to know some things!! Once again thanks to everyone you are very nice and helpful here!!!:D And anything else you want to tell me that will be helpful PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DO SO!

Lots of people rent cars from what i have read.

I have tried to call passport office and they always have me on hold forever:mad: Just making sure a passport's not need to sail to the Bahamas? As of right now you do not need a passport to cruise closed loop cruises (meaning one that starts and ends in the same port) If you needed to fly home from the Bahamas however.. you need a passport

Are beach towels provided? Can you take them off ship? You get a beach towel in your room.. You can take it off the ship, but do not lose it or you will be paying I think $22.

Is the casino cash only? Don't know on this one.

Are there smoking areas(Hubby smokes)? Yes. I'm not sure where they are though.

We don't want to use credit card for ss card onboard we can use cash correct:o? Yes you can use cash.

Are jeans acceptable in dining room? What about tennis shoes?

Does anyone know what day is formal dining?

Is there a pool in the adults only area? If the Sensation has the serenity area on it now.. then no... there are "hot" tubs there.

Are hairdryers provided?

I know there is a laundry, but does anyone know how much it cost? I believe it's $2 per washer, $2 per dryer, and not sure on the soap.

All our docs are going to be done online, is this also where we get luggage tags? And can you print out as many as needed (just in case we mess some up)? Yes you get your luggage tags when you print it out.. if you need more than provided just print multiple copies of that page

I have tried to call passport office and they always have me on hold forever:mad: Just making sure a passport's not need to sail to the Bahamas? You will need a certified birth certificate and driver's license.

Are beach towels provided? Can you take them off ship? yes

Is the casino cash only? you can use your sign and sail for a 3% fee. you can set up a players bank to go back and forth to your sign and sail

Are there smoking areas(Hubby smokes)? yes

We don't want to use credit card for ss card onboard we can use cash correct:o? yes

Are jeans acceptable in dining room? What about tennis shoes? yes, except for elegant night

Does anyone know what day is formal dining? not sure

Is there a pool in the adults only area?

Are hairdryers provided? yes, but bring a rubber band to hold button in. Large ones like on broccoli work best.

I know there is a laundry, but does anyone know how much it cost? not sure

Purchase an inexpensive over the door shoe holder with clear pockets. folds flat for packing but really helps keep the cabin tidy and keep things at finger's reach. I assign everyone a couple of rows to keep their stuff. We hang it on the cabin side of the bathroom door.

OK, I'll tackle a few of them. :p

I do NOT recommend the Carnival transfers. They are usually about as expensive as a private shuttle or taxi and much less convenient. You have to wait for the bus to fill up ~ if you happen to be one of the first ones on, you may be sitting there for well over an hour waiting for it to fill up before they will leave. Not fun!

You will have beach towels in your cabin, and they will change them for you each day. You can take them off the ship, but be very careful not to lose them ~ either off the ship or on the ship. If you lose one, they will charge you something like $30. Make sure you take it back to your cabin each day.

There are smoking areas. One side of the ship is smoking on outside decks. Several of the bars are smoking.

You can put a cash deposit down for your Sail & Sign account. Depending on the length of your cruise, the amount required varies.

Jeans and tennis shoes are ok in the dining room, although you will get a lot of different opinions on that. I wouldn't wear them on Elegant dining night, but many people do.

Print out your luggage tags from your electronic docs, correct. You can print as many as you need.

Happy cruising! :)

Lots of people rent cars from what i have read.It is cheaper to rent a car and drive it to the pier or hotel and turn it in than to get a cab...

Is the casino cash only? Don't know on this one. You can use cash or your sail and sign (if you use cash for that you are not gaining anything)

Are there smoking areas(Hubby smokes)? Yes. I'm not sure where they are though. Multiple places to smoke, lido deck starboard side, casino bar, casino, disco there are more...

We don't want to use credit card for ss card onboard we can use cash correct:o? Yes you can use cash.

Are jeans acceptable in dining room? What about tennis shoes? I have seen jeans in the dining room except for formal night...and yes so are tennis shoes

Does anyone know what day is formal dining?

Cruising on Carnival Sensation May 7-May 10 and wondering whats the best transportation from Orlando Airport(MCO) to Port Canaveral? (I do know Carnival offers it but wondering if anything cheaper)

Rental vehicles are frequently cheaper and most have return location near the port with free shuttles.

I have tried to call passport office and they always have me on hold forever:mad: Just making sure a passport's not need to sail to the Bahamas?

Passport is not required for cruise travel to the Bahamas.

Are beach towels provided? Can you take them off ship?

Yes, beach towels are provided. Yes, you can take them off the ship. They are large, plush and $22 each if you loose them.

Is the casino cash only?

No. You can use your S&S card for the slots or for chips for table games.

Are there smoking areas(Hubby smokes)?

Yes. And they are clearly marked.

We don't want to use credit card for ss card onboard we can use cash correct:o?

Yes you may.

Are jeans acceptable in dining room? What about tennis shoes?

No, jeans are not acceptable. Brand new tennis shoes that don't look like tennis shoes may be OK. I'd recommend dress shoes. Granted you may see jeans and tennis shoes, but you may also see people picking their nose.

Does anyone know what day is formal dining?

Dunno.

Is there a pool in the adults only area?

Dunno.

Are hairdryers provided?

On most ships, yes. Dunno about yours.

I know there is a laundry, but does anyone know how much it cost?

Don't remember.

All our docs are going to be done online, is this also where we get luggage tags? And can you print out as many as needed (just in case we mess some up)?

Yes. Print as many as you need. You can also obtain additional tags from porters at the pier.

I think thats all for now. Sorry if its too much but just needed to know some things!! Once again thanks to everyone you are very nice and helpful here!!!:D And anything else you want to tell me that will be helpful PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DO SO!

Have a great cruise!

Cruising on Carnival Sensation May 7-May 10 and wondering whats the best transportation from Orlando Airport(MCO) to Port Canaveral? (I do know Carnival offers it but wondering if anything cheaper)We used a car service. Not sure whats the name or how much it cost. The airport is about and hour and a half away from the port. Like someone said, alot of people rent cars. We stayed in Orlando near Universal Studios and the car service drove us down to the port the morning of. Check my review below in my Signature.

I have tried to call passport office and they always have me on hold forever:mad: Just making sure a passport's not need to sail to the Bahamas? You don't need a passport as of yet but if something happens and you need to get back to the states, you would need a passport to do so.

Are beach towels provided? Can you take them off ship? Yes, but i wouldn't take them off the ship. They are huge and heavy and if you lose them you have to pay.

Is the casino cash only? Its cash and cashless. You can put bills and coins or set up a account with you s and s card if you don't want to use cash.

Are there smoking areas(Hubby smokes)? There are. I don't smoke so i'm not sure the correct areas but one side of the lido was smoking

We don't want to use credit card for ss card onboard we can use cash correct:o? Yes, you will set cash on your card at the Pursar's desk once onboard. You can also save time, set up with your credit card and just go to the desk on the last sea day and settle your bill with cash

Are jeans acceptable in dining room? What about tennis shoes? You can, they don't turn people away. I (not on the sensation tho) wore jeans in the dining room with some nice shoes and a nice shirt. but i've seen it all in the dining room so its up to you.

Does anyone know what day is formal dining? Its in my review but i think its on the second night.

Is there a pool in the adults only area? They didn't have an adults only section when I cruised the Sesnsation but i cruised the Fantasy, its sister ship, and there wasn't a pool, only two hot tubs.

Are hairdryers provided? No, they are not provided on most ships now. I think you can ask the room stweard for one tho.

I know there is a laundry, but does anyone know how much it cost? I've never seen the laundry on either ship i've been on but I hear $2 washer $2 dryer and $1 soap

All our docs are going to be done online, is this also where we get luggage tags? And can you print out as many as needed (just in case we mess some up)? You can print out as many as you need, we got some at the peir from the porters, It seemed like they put them on even if you had the printed tags already. our stuff got to the room fine. I've never used the e-doc tags but people say to use strong tape or go get them laminated so they hold up.

I think thats all for now. Sorry if its too much but just needed to know some things!! Once again thanks to everyone you are very nice and helpful here!!!:D And anything else you want to tell me that will be helpful PLEASE FEEL FREE TO DO SO!

Like i stated above, feel free to read my review. Sensation was my first cruise too, Last year and now I'm going on my 3rd. You will enjoy yourself very much. I learned alot of cruise critc. Don't be scared to ask questions.

No, they are not provided on most ships now. I think you can ask the room stweard for one tho.

 There's been a hairdryer on all 3 of my cruises....Pride, Miracle and Valor.

I've seen pictures posted here of hairdryers in certain Fantasy class ships...it is more like a hotel one, on the wall of the bathroom. Don't know if all the Fantasy ships have it, but unless they have recently taken them out, some do.

I think all Spirit class and Conquest class ships do have hairdryers.

I have tried to call passport office and they always have me on hold forever:mad: Just making sure a passport's not need to sail to the Bahamas? You do not need a passport to cruise to the Bahamas as long as your cruise originates and ends in the US. (closed loop)

Are beach towels provided? Can you take them off ship?

Yes they have towels for you to take off the ship. Then when you get back on there are clean towels right there and you drop your dirty ones

Is the casino cash only?

You can use your S&S card or a credit card but there is a fee.

Are there smoking areas(Hubby smokes)?

Yes there are smoking areas on the ship

We don't want to use credit card for ss card onboard we can use cash correct:o?

Yes you can put cash on your S&S card

Are jeans acceptable in dining room? What about tennis shoes?

Carnival is very casual. I wear slacks and a collared shirt. But several people do wear jeans.

Does anyone know what day is formal dining?

It will be your full day at sea.

Is there a pool in the adults only area?

Most ships have them but not all.

Are hairdryers provided?

Yes but if you have very long hair it can take a long time to use theirs.

I know there is a laundry, but does anyone know how much it cost?

Sorry don't know about this one

Thanks starstruck05 great review and it helped alot:D

Ok another question: in the casino is it like vegas where you get free drinks if you gamble?

You CAN get a free laynard in the casino, and a hole punched in your card so you can wear it around your neck or on your belt if you have belt loops.

We were on Sensation last May. Our cabin did not have a hair dryer. We flew into Orlando and rented a car from Dollar(located inside MCO). We dropped off the car in Cape Canaveral and took their free shuttle to the Port. When we returned Dollar had a van waiting and took us back to their office and we picked up the car to return to MCO. We found this cheaper than shuttle service from MCO.
