Port in Santorini

Recommended Posts

Historically the cruise ships tender into Thira, where the donkeys or the cable car take you up the inside of the volcano to the town. It is news to me that they are having the ships enter anywhere else.

I recall that the Athinios port is where you are tendered to if you are on a ships excursion and you are tendered off first then the ship moves a little further down and then the rest of the ship is tendered into the old port where the cable car and donkeys are located. Everyone tenders back to the ship from the old port.
