Mendenhall Helicopter Tour -- worth it??

We are on the Princess Star, sailing 8/30/09. Looking at the Mendenhall Glacier tour thru Princess for $299/person. Is it worth the price? Should we book thru Princess or is there a better (and less expensive) option? Thanks....

DH took this tour a couple of years ago and LOVED it. (I didn't - don't do helicopters.) He said the hike itself was more "physical" than he would have thought given it was a ship tour. He's a hiker and in great shape, but he said there were a couple of people who on the tour who did have a difficult time.

He went on a trek, which is not this tour. A regular glacier landing is doable for just about everyone, even with mobility limitations.

We reserved this and it was canceled due to foggy weather. I understand this happens often.

My daughter and I went on our last cruise. Riding in the helicopter was fun because we had never been in one before. We had a clear sunny day so we were able to see some mountain that I can't remember the name of. The pilot said that opportunity did not happen often due to weather. On the glaicer itself was interesting and I guess we can say we have been there done that but I would not go back again.
