Do I need to bring my own beach towels?

No, Carnival will have towels waiting for you in your cabin.

Carnival provides beach towels that you may take ashore.

 

But, you'll be charged $22 for each towel you lose.

 

Some people do bring their own towels though.

I bring my own cheapish thin ones to take to the beach.

I don't have to worry about losing them and they are smaller and lighter than Carnival's big ones.

Might as well use the towels that the ship provides---they will launder them so you don't have to! (There's nothing worse than sandy, damp towels!!!)

Yep, make sure you return the 2 Blue Carnival Towels back to the Cabin.

Traut - I take my own thin inexpensive ones...IF I have a beach day planned. If not, I don't take them.

 

In your cabin will be huge towels for use on shore. They are SO big and bulky, one would fill my entire tote bag. As above, if lost or stolen, your S&S account will be charged $22 each.

 

Towels for use on the deck will be provided there.

I pick up 2 cheapy ones at WM before our trips. Then if they get lost, no big deal. If I don't feel like carrying them around after the beach I can just leave them there and let someone else take them. I personally won't remove a towel from the ship. I am not paying $22 for it if it gets lost or another cruiser picks it up to replace their lost one LOL

 

Also like mentioned they are big and bulky, the cheapies are thin and fit well into the beach bag but get the job done just fine.

I always take some thin, cheapy towels with me. The Carnival ones are huge and too heavy to carry around.

I love the ones Carnival provides! It was a nice surprise to me. I was expecting thin & small, but they are big & thick. We carried 4 of them in our beach bag on shore both days we were in port. Perfect. I didn't find them cumbersome at all.
