MamaParrotHead Posted November 30, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2004 Just reading about all the technicalities that need to be handled during embarking...wondering how in the world they sail at 4:00, get everyone onboard and "settled", the lifejacket drills AND people seated to dinner on time? Happy ks Posted November 30, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 30, 2004 Usually you receive a card in your stateroom informing you of your seating and table number. So yes, the sit-down dinner is served the first night. It is always a casual night, as some passengers may not have gotten their luggage delivered to their stateroom yet. LARGIN Posted November 30, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2004 Usually the first night passengers wear what they wore onto the ship and the last night passengers wear what they are wearing off of the ship. Therefore both nights are expremely casual.
springtxbill Posted December 1, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2004 The ship practices getting everybody off and the new ones on every time they start a new cruise. They have it down pat. :)
darchibald Posted December 1, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 1, 2004 We were on Majesty, Nov. 15 and the ship sailed at 5p.m. Did the muster drill and still made our 6p.m. dining. Go! Enjoy! Have Fun! :D
Rare geoherb Posted December 2, 2004 #6 Share Posted December 2, 2004 Occasionally, ships will have open seating in the dining rooms instead of fixed traditional seating on embarkation day. This is especially true if the ship is scheduled to leave port late in the evening--like a lot of cruises from San Juan do.
