Can we snorkle here?

We're going to be in Limon, Costa Rico & Colon, Panama for our New Year's cruise. Haven't been to these ports before. Is there decent snorkling either place? We rarely do ship's tours and they don't have any snorkling tours in these ports. thanks for your answers..........Smile.....Bonnie................

DH and I were in Limon, Costa Rica this past Feb. We got off the ship and found a company doing a tour which included a beach stop. We asked if we could snorkle there, he said yes. We found out that the surf was far too rough. I think most of Costa Rica on the Carribean side is like that. The waters are known more for surfing than snorkeling.
