What would someone here on Cruise Critic say would be a reasonable amount for a Taxi ride to the Acropolis from the Pier in Athens

What would someone here on Cruise Critic say would be a reasonable amount for a Taxi ride to the Acropolis from the Pier in Athens

Time: depending on the traffic, a minimum of 30 minutes.

 

Money: 22 Euros, although a lower flat rate is posted right at the taxi stand.

On a previous cruise to Athens, it was very difficult to find a driver willing to take us just to Athens. Practically all of them would only take us for a full day tour. However, one volunteered to take us just to Athens offering us the opportunity to take a tour with him if we changed our minds. By the time we reached the Acropolis, we did in fact change our minds. He showed us a wonderful day and at our request took us to a gyros restaurant for lunch. He gave us plenty of time to explore the Acropolis and Plaka on our own, but we also visited the Temple of Zeus, the ancient Olympic stadium and other venues. Poor guy got a parking ticket while we were having lunch. I don't recall the price, but it seemed pretty reasonable.

We didn't have any problem getting a taxi to just take us to the Acropolis. We joined up with another couple and spend 10-15 euros each couple with tip. The driver offered to wait and do the whole day thing, we all declined.
