Footwear for Altun Ha

I was looking at some pictures of an excursion to Altun Ha and noticed that almost everyone was wearing sneakers. I hadn't planned on bringing any sneakers but now I'm wondering if we absolutely need them. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. We are leaving Saturday morning for our cruise on Sunday and the packing is beginning to stress me out!

If you want to climb the ruins then perhaps sneakers are the way to go. Some of the stairs are a little steep & it is nice to have a good grip with your feet. With that said....my husband wore his crocs & my daughter had flip-flops on! They had no problem, but I felt much more comfortable wearing runners. Did I totally confuse you now?!

We all wore crocs and sandals too- and were fine climbing.
