Best cruise for 2 boys ages 9 and 14

Help! Any advice on the best boat ( on east coast) for 2 boys ages 9 and 14.

The 9 year old is always on the go, fearless and acts a bit older than 9... so it seems like any ship with a carnival waterworks would be best for him but not best for the 14 yr old ...............mostly because Carnival separates the teens at 12 - 14 and 15-17 and only has one area for each age.

I love Royal and some Royal boats have both a teen disco and a teen lounge..that seems better for him since he craves the social scence.......but then the Royal boats are short on waterslides. Some Royal boats do have that water play area but it seems to babish for my 9 year old.

Neither boy will rock climb or ice skate.

Finally, my husband is a big man so he need roomier cabins. Some of the carnival boats have cabins that seem very small!

I would appreciate any suggestions or past experiences!

There are many cruise lines that will appeal to both adults and to children.

If you had not mentioned any of the cruise lines you have been on, I would have mentioned the following ones to think about;

Princess, Celebrity and Royal Caribbean

Since you hadn't mentioned Princess or Celebrity I would look at those two.

I personally think they would love the Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas. They have an awesome area of colorful waterworks. Also, they have a flow rider which they can surf. I loved that ship and I think it would be great for your kids.
