Paul Gaugin vs Pacific Princess

Hello, We are trying to decide between the 10 day Paul Gaugin and the 10 day Pacific Princess in October. Balcony stateroom with Regent and mini suite with Princess. Price is $14,628 (CDN) for Regent and $11,790 (CDN) for Princess. Do you think the Paul Gaugin is worth an extra $3,000? Both prices include air. We appreciate any input that you may have for us. Thanks, Emilee

We have PG booked for 2010 since PP will not be in Tahiti next year. That having been said, DW and I spent a lot of time researching both ships the last couple of years. For us, the difference between PG and PP is the service, food, alcohol and activities included. We also received free air which allowed us to spend an extra 3 days in Moorea in an OWB at the Moorea Pearl Resort.

Our original first choice was Princess, but now that we've been "forced" into Paul Gauguin we are quite happy with the choice. The alcohol savings alone for us will most likely be around 500-700-and no need to Smuggle. Plus, we wont have to book excursions to get to the beach in Bora Bora or Tahaa. Another draw is diving. We are planning on getting SCUBA certified in the next year and the dive program on PG cannot be beat.

that price you quoted for princess seems excessive!!! is that price from princess? you can always get a lower price from online TAs..just a thought! we did btb on the tahitian princess 2 10 days in 2007 and loved it. price was nowhere near that.

Actually, Princess announced just recently that the Royal Princess will be sailing in Tahiti in 2010, so Princess will return to Tahiti in 2010.
