Children in bars on RCI

Evening all,

my apologies if this info can be found elsewhere but I was just trawling through the RC site and couldn't find it. I'm just wondering if our 10 yr old DD will be allowed in the bars/lounges on Freedom?

On OV she used to like coming into the lounge bar after the theatre so that we could all have a pre-bed cocktail (hers were non-alcoholic, obviously) and I couldn't find the info on RCI website about children entering bars and lounges.

Any info gratefully received!

Thanks, Spanner :)

Yes, children are allowed into most of the bars and lounges on the ship. The only places she wouldn't be allowed are the casino, the nightclub after a certain time at night (typically around 10pm), and any lounge where they are having an adult's only event (again, typically only late at night).

Just off IOS and after 11 the kids are not allowed, this was in the pub.

Found out by having to leave :)

LOL! Well, I suppose 11's fair enough; DD and I would both be fit for bed by then anyway....DH might still be up! :)

According to the Compass from two weeks ago: Champagne bar & Cigar Club are always adults only. The Crypt is adults only after 11pm. Olive and Twist is adults only after 10pm. Otherwise children are allowed in the other bars.

Great question! I was going to ask the same thing because I wanted to join my fellow cc'rs at Schooner's on the Mariner for an informal gathering before sail away during daytime hours and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to make it because of the baby. Glad to hear I am going to be able to at least stop by!

Oh no! I was looking forward to going into the champagne bar; I wonder why that one is always adults only? Maybe it has a nice quiet atmosphere or something.....

not that my DD would disturb anyone...she'd either be people watching or reading :)

You won't have any problem with a baby in the Schooner bar. I have seen many kids in the Schooner bar especially during trivia but also later when the pianist is playing. It is also one of the non-smoking bars on the Mariner. We hung out there so much that our server, Celia I think, came over the last night and told my husband she only had 3 Stellas and if we were going to hang out there all night she would send for more.:o:p
