Summit vs Infinity - What's the main difference & which do you prefer and why

I have reservations for a 14 night on the Infinity but the Summit schedule really works better for me. I hear lots about the Infinity but not nearly as much about the Summit. Are they just alike? Is the Tpool and spa the same? Alternative restaurant? Pls give me your thoughts.

We've cruised on Infinity 3 times and soon to be 2 times on Summit. All cruises have been 14 day cruises.

We love them both equally. We have never eaten in the "specialty" restaurants on either ship (we always make reservations for 1 night during each cruise - then end up cancelling because the we thoroughly enjoy the food and atmosphere in the main dining rooms - go figure!).

It would be hard for me to say I prefer one over the other as both are so similar - only the art work and colors are differ....IMHO the staff, crew and officers on both are just great. The entertainment (for the most part) is good. The food is comparible, the pools (outdoor and spa/T-pool) are the same.....

Great ships. Don't think you would be disappointed regardless which one you book. (But these are MHO!)

We've been on each 4 times. They are basically the same. The decor on the Summit is a little nicer in my opinion, but they are both very nice. I love the alternative restaurants. Most of the dishes are the same, just a few different. The Goat Cheese Souffle is unbelievable. It's one of the appetizers on both ships. Either one is great.

Have not been in Infinity, but will be on our third cruise on Summit next March. I suspect that the only difference is decor and maybe service. Summit has consistently been voted tops in service. We have done the specialty restaurant every time (this past March, twice) and found it well worth the $25/pp charge. Hope this helps a little. I don't think you can go wrong either way!! icon_cool.gif

We have been on both and there really is no noticable difference. They are both wonderful. I would choose by which schedule was best.

Hi Joan. We are doing fine how about you. You are doing a cruise we really hope to do some day. Maybe next summer. Anxious to hear what you think of the Constellation. We are going on Galaxy out of Baltimore in Oct. It is a back to back repo cruise to San Juan and then from San Juan to Galveston. Plan on doing Infinity back to back next spring. I think you are one of the few posters I have seen from our Alaska cruise. Wasn't that a great time. Do you hear from any others. Like what about VieLee. Haven't seen her posting. I know Donald and Cynthia will be on the Hawaii cruise on Infinity in Dec. How about Arnold and Sandy. Are you still in touch with them.

Our friends Ken and Lois who were on Summit with us will be on Galaxy with us also. We have made cruise addicts out of them.

Good to see your posts. Take care.

Hi Karen and Joan:

We haven't been on the boards lately. Hope both of you are doing OK!

Karen please say hi to Ken and Lois from us.

We were on the Rhaposdy of the Seas in February, will be on the Adventure of the Seas in May and, the Norwegian Dawn in November, and the Infinity in December.

Everything is OK with us.

Donald and Cynthia, so nice to hear from you. I think you cruise more than anyone I know. Paul just mentioned tonight that he thought the greatest CC group we ever met was on Summit.

Ken and Lois are doing great, still in good health. And they are really anxious to cruise again in October. We have dinner with them about once a month. I work with their daughter who is an only child but I think they have adopted Paul and I because we have become really close. They are wonderful people and will be so pleased to know I heard from you. We still keep in touch with our dinner companions from Summit and they too fell in love with Lois and Ken so they are included on the email list. By the way, they still enjoy the casino here in town. Lois just asked me if the Galaxy had any penny slots as that's what they play here at the casinos. They are so cute. And of course when we go on the cruise Ken reminds me "now what goes on during this cruise, stays on this cruise".

Donald please do stay in touch, hopefully we can get Ma Bell, Arnold and Sandy and the others from Summit and all cruise again.

My email is KMBIX56@wmconnect.com.

By the way, did Paul send you a CD from the cruise? I remember he was having trouble getting your addresss.

You and Cynthia really added special times to our cruise.

Karen

Summit is our favorite out of all Celebrity ships we've been on. So much so that on getting off the 11 day cruise on March 26th we found that Summit had a 4 day cruise April 26, so we are going again. We had the best time with the CC group, and the ship's staff are some of the best we have had. This is our personal opinion, but a lot of people agree with us.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice. I'm seriously considering changing to the Summit. Seems like the ships are pretty much the same and as I said the schedule works a little better for me.
