Tinknock50 Posted May 17, 2009 #151 Share Posted May 17, 2009 Hi, everyone! I have been watching this thread with interest. I will be leaving on the 5/20 Volendam for a 7 day Inside Passage. I already think I will just be getting my feet wet with this cruise. I plan on putting a deposit down on a future cruise, and am very interested in learning what price you are quoted. We paid about 300.00 each less than HAL's prices for our current cruise, booked through a TA. However, I will have to sail a single as I don't think my travel bud will be interested in another Alaska cruise so soon. In other words, but my name down!:D Janie Campbell:p That's the difference I have been seeing too between booking directly with HAL and what various TAs are offering. So for sure I will be tranferring to a TA at some point. A couple of them are offering $225 per cabin on board credits. Hoping the official group rates will be offering something similar. (If we EVER hear from them. :D) A couple of others are also adding in Pinnacle Dinners, gifts etc. but their prices are slightly higher to cover the extra costs. I have always found that very annoying....supposedly giving you perks, but in reality you are actually paying extra for them.

Yes, I am expecting that the group perks/amenities will be the same and at a better price. :D
hmstins Posted May 17, 2009 #153 Share Posted May 17, 2009 I'm so excited about three things: first of all, 14 days on the ship; second, 14 days in Alaska, and third, cruising Alaska! I can't wait to get the pricing and get everything locked in. This is going to be a great group, I know, and we will have a wonderful time. I love sea days in Alaska because the scenery is outstanding, relaxing and beautiful, and you have time to enjoy the ship and whatever activities you prefer. We are going to have some fun things planned that will make a fabulous cruise even better, so stay with us everyone and all will be settled soon! What were the two groups you mentioned that were before us? I ask because when we see those appear officially, we can get better guage when to expect this cruise to be "grouped".
