Which dining room ?

I know this will sound stupid but..... if we have 1st seating for dining which dining room is it ? Do you always go to the same table?

Depends on the ship, but in most cases you'll be in the aft dining room. And yes, you ALWAYS go to the same table. The first night, you'll be escorted to your table, but after that, just wander in when the dining room opens and you're good to go!

Enjoy your cruise!

Whe you check in, your cruise card will tell you the dining room you will eat in, the time you will eat and the table you will eat at.

Yes, you will eat at the same table every night.

If you want to eat at different tables, you need to switch to Anytime Dining.

Thanks for the replies. We are on the Sapphire in June for Alaska. This will be the first cruise for my husband and I. We are still trying to figure out how to pack for the 4 day land tour. We have all the important things, binoculars, camera's, rain/wind jackets. Just waiting to go !!

Here's a tip: Hang near the door for the dining room on the first night, but don't stand in line. Find a place to sit at the nearest bar or check out anything nearby (stores, etc.). Five minutes later, go to the dining room door. That way you can avoid the long line (each party will be escorted to their table that night as noted above, and that takes time). When you get to your table, note where it is, but no worries, as if you get lost from that night on, someone will show you where your table is. Another advantage to traditional dining, is that the same tablemates will be sitting at your table, and if they get there before you, you'll have another way of finding your table.

From the second night on, don't worry about a line to get in. If the door is open, you can just walk in.

If you need to leave for a few minutes (rest room, etc.), just let the maitre'd know, as the front doors will be closed at some point.

The fixed dining is in the International dining room at the back of the ship on deck 6. You can get there by walking to the aft stairs/elevators on deck 7 or if you're on a higher deck, walking to the aft stairs/elevators. You cannot get there from elsewhere on deck 6 as the kitchen is located between the Anytime dining rooms which are entered from the middle of the ship and the International dining room.

Just got off the Sapphire yesterday. You'll have a great cruise!
