Venice Hotels

[Two Cruzan]

We're taking the Sept. 25th Voyager cruise out of Venice. We're going to arrive a couple days early, and need some Hotel recommendations. This will be our first trip to Venice. Can anyone recommend a boutique hotel with a reasonable access to a water taxi to the cruise dock?

The Metropole is right on the Lagoon and about a 5 minute walk away from St Marks Square - the airport water taxi is about 100 meters away from the front door.

 

Again you can read about it on Trip Advisor - we stayed there for 3 nights in December 2007 and loved it. They have a Michelin starred restaurant which was very good, although a little pricey.

Another vote for hotel Metropole. It is a hotel with a lot of character. A couple of years ago my family and I stayed here and loved it . All three rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated.

 

Regarding your comment about water taxi... are you referring to the vaporetto , the Alilaguna bus, or a private water taxi? If you are talking about a private water taxi, this hotel has its own dock so you would be picked up at the door of the hotel.

Check out Ca' Sagredo, a luxury hotel which was reconverted from a palazzo. It is outstanding, right on the Grand Canal and offers exquisite rooms with service to match.

Small hotel, friendly, good breakfast and conveniently located on the Grand Canal. Stayed here June 2008 after disembarking Voyager.

We enjoyed Locanda Vivaldi -- very nice small hotel, nice rooms, nice breakfasts, perfect location on the Grand Canal about a two minute walk down from from St. Marks and close to a vaporetto stop (and with a private entrance for water taxi).
