Nope......but don't know if you have used Oregon Chai......Original Chai Tea Latte Mix. My DW also loves Starbucks we bring this powered mix and add hot water, it is pretty good.

you are most welcome.....AkaWanda isn't here at the present so I can't ask her where she bought the powder but I think it was at the regular supermarket. Also don't know if you are interested in this but if you are a hard core Latte drinker...for home use...I just bought a Melita Espresso Machine at Target $29.95 yep I thought you gotta be kidding 30 bucks?....it makes 1 cup at a time, I use it for coffee latte and Aka for steamed milk for her Chai Tea.
PS: oh I just noticed you are from Martinez..hi neighbor....don't miss the Cova, every afternoon from 3-5 (I think it is) yummy yummy pastries....I got a plate one day, put several eclairs and napoleians (sp?) on it and carried it on down to the theater (with my coffee in hand as well, I take my own small brewer)...anyhow, here I was sitting in the dark, cool theater eating and drinking while watching Chicago for the 20th time...then I took a nap!

Princess, I do not know if this is good news or not (depending on your desire to fit into your clothes at the end of the cruise), but the pastries are no charge. Cova only charges for the coffee drinks. If you want tea or regular coffee, those are available at no charge as well. I had to make a conscious effort NOT to go there too often.

Don't get me started on the subject of late afternoon munchies! You know how you used to get home from school around 3 PM or so and raid the refrigerator or the cupboards? Well, that urge STILL hits me about the same time. Not only does Cova have the pastries, but the buffet has tea sandwiches and little desserts as well, which will keep you going until the sushi bar opens....NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I just have to add something, again! That little tale about me taking the pastries into the theater with me....(from last reply)...I swear I walked over to the table and checked them out and there were two of the napolians left...well I thought I would be good and I just kept on walking. went right into the theater. As I was sitting there my hand started getting itchy and I started getting twitchy...it was driving me NUTS that there were those two pastries left and I WANTED THEM. finally I could stand no more and ran out there before anyone could grab them, what a relief they were still there. NOW, how sad is that? LOL

Hi...Princess.....I can't believe I cannot remember if those pastries were served on Century...Brigitte..do you recall?

I don't rememeber seeing them....hmmmm....

I do know Princess, you can go to the Elegant High tea..that is offered once during the cruise in the dining room...and it is ELEGANT..the waiters are more dressed up than at dinner...they have white gloves on...and you get those small sandwiches...then, tons of pastries...then...THE BIG DESSERT CART.
It is at 4:00...and they request you even dress for it properly . (not formal wear but no shorts).
You want carbs? LOL try that elegant tea!

Cat...you went back for the pastries LOL...its ok, you are on a cruise

OT...Lois, I just noticed you are a "blue ribbon cruiser" how did that happen?? Is this some kind of designation that is afforded those who annoy Newt often enough ? Does anyone know if they have soy milk on the Mercury? I can bring my own Chai, right? Would they serve you a cup of steamed soy milk?

I was told that while on a cruise that all of the carbs, fat and calories didn't count! Is this not the case? Maybe, if I loose an extra 5 lbs before we go my clothes will fit just right on the last day of the cruise! This could just be wishful thinking, surly not.

Thanks for the help.

I started my low/no carb "diet" at the end of last month with my goal of losing 5 pounds by cruise day. This way I can gain the requisite 5 pounds and not feel guilty!!! By the way, I have lost 2.5 pounds already...half way there!!!

brigitetom,

Hopefully you were there after the old station was redone. We use it for the day trips to Old Sacramento.

I see you are from N Carolina. We have been to Wilmington a couple of times. Used to have a horse in training in Rocky Point NC. Beautiful area but the humidity nearly killed me. Even dipped my toes in the warm Atlantic.

Yes, I have Chai in the bags but prefer the Chai Latte. The tea bags will work fine for this cruise.

Debra....my wonderful wife, AkaWanda got the chai tea mix at Raley's.

Shelly....we do not think there is any steamed soy milk on the ship but you may find some non-fat that is angry.

dprice, No, it was very definately before the remodeling. Were you in Rockey Point or Rocky Mount? We live in the mountains so the humidity is not much of a problem. I used to live in Oakhurst, Ca. 15 miles from the southern gate of Yosemite. How neat that you get to do daytrips by train. Ah Raleys. I remember it well. The whole town celebrated when they came to town.

Hey Catmand,

Personally, I like the skinny milk. It is my better half that enjoys a soy chai latte! Maybe if I smuggle some soy and chai on board I could get the soy steamed!! Wait a second, I will be on vaction enjoying those non-fat, no carb pasteries (with my skinny latte), I guess that my husband will have to try and get the soy steamed.

Thanks for the help. Have a great EASTER!

Princess. Somewhere in my research I have come across the fact that the Cova on Century has the same complimentary pastries and the almond croissants are to die for. Normally I wouldn't try any of these, but I'll make the sacrifice for you and sample so that I can report back. Can I rotate the Cova assignment with the waffle bar? What happens when you can no longer fit thru your cabin door?

polodad,

What waffle bar? More yummy pastry - I guess that I had better lose 10#s in the next month.

You mean to tell me that the cabin door isn't adjustable! Oh my, I could be in real trouble. I just read on some poll that Celeb. took first place for their chocolate desserts, oh I feel the #s adding up all ready.

Please do report back after your cruise, since I will no longer be eating by then (a quick way to drop 10#s) I can dream about what is about to come!

Thanks

Brigittetom,

I found the Oregon Chai powder today at Safeway. Just add water and it comes in handy envelopes! I can offset the milk calories with the pastry calories. What a deal!

Thanks for the tip.
