Jacksonville airport shuttles to cruise port

The meeting location for the shuttles through Carnival are hard to miss - their people hold up big signs as you approach the luggage area. I'm not sure about the other shuttles but there is a big information desk and the people there are very helpful - I would guess the other shuttles are in the ground transportation area...

We took a cab - walked right out of the airport to the Gator Taxi stand and hopped right in - only $31 plus tip for two of us going there and $35 plus tip coming back (included JAX charge to the taxi for leaving with passengers) - the convenience was well worth a few extra bucks....and since we had arrived at 11:00 am we may have been waiting a while...

Have a great time!

what is the charge for leaving with passengers about? We will be going there in June and have heard different stories about the fees for taxies or times you can or cant be droped off...never delt with that at any other port. Can you explain?

The charge for leaving with passengers is explained on the Jaxport website here: http://www.jaxport.com/sea/c_comm.cfm

The website also states that the terminal opens to embarking passengers at twelve noon - http://www.jaxport.com/sea/c_drex.cfm but there have been posters here that report differently about that. (IIRC, we arrived around noon - by shuttle that had to be screened/scanned before we entered the port - and there were already a lot of people in line - so maybe that means when they will start checking people in, not when you allowed into the drop off area.)
