Coastcruisers Posted December 6, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 6, 2004 A little last minute, but since the MSC Opera is new to FLL it remains unclear as to whether or not "formal" will really mean formal dress: tux's for the gents; gowns for the ladies?? If anyone reading this is joining TACruzer and us on the December 11th cruise please post. Also, if anyone has contacted the cruise line directly, do they permit wine or champagne to be brought on board at time of embarkation? (Sure would be great to hear from some of the CC guests on board right now.) One way or the other, we are looking forward to sailing the Opera. It is a beautiful new ship with a staff to match, and a welcome addition. Happy cruisin' . . .
Oakville Posted December 6, 2004 #2 Share Posted December 6, 2004 I have not heard much about dress, but I am bringing my new tux anyway. Afterall, shouldn't cruising Italian style have a touch of pizzaz?
Coastcruisers Posted December 6, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted December 6, 2004 It certainly should - and when we see each other we should know who we are. Have a great rest of the week and happy cruisin' - Italian Style! Thanks for replying.
deharry Posted December 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 14, 2004 I sailed on the 12/4/2004 cruise. There are two "gala" nights as thet call them, on the evenings at sea, the men wear mainly dark suits, the ladies formal dresses. The other times, dress slacks and shirts for men, business wear for ladies. This is the only line that I know, where you may purchase liquor on board and take it with you to your cabin.
