By the way, we always eat lunch in a little hole in the wall restaurant in Nassau. It is called Conch Fritters, and it is across the street from the British Colonial Hotel, a short walk from the cruise pier. The food is excellent and inexpensive. Aubiecruiser Posted May 6, 2009 #10 Share Posted May 6, 2009 $300 - $400 ought to be enough, if you don't spend too much time in the casino. Aubie
tjljsc Posted May 6, 2009 Author #11 Share Posted May 6, 2009 Thanks for the feedback so far. We will definitely make sure to have enough singles and thanks for the idea of cash for restaurants in port. I put 99% of my stuff on my credit cards, but there's always that one place that only takes cash! So... new list is: Tips for cruise staff, room service, taxi and porters (lots of singles) Casino Shuttle to Port of Miami Small amount for any cash-only port shopping/restaurants Anything else? cb at sea Posted May 6, 2009 #13 Share Posted May 6, 2009 What you spend in the casino depends on what you can afford! Some folks spend thousands...... We never "charge" our casino money--it's always cash that we can afford to lose--and losing is the operative word here....most WILL lose! The drinks (mixed, regular cocktails, anyway) are quite strong without tipping extra! (15% is added to your tab) Foo-foo drinks don't have as much "kick" as a basic cocktail. Larger bills are easier to carry--you can get change on the ship, so don't stuff your pockets full of small bills!
ByeBye1 Posted May 6, 2009 #14 Share Posted May 6, 2009 I don't use credit cards in foreign ports, identity theft and coping your card number are to often the case. Use cash and never worry about someone getting a hold of your credit card numbers.

Are margaritas REALLY $10 with a tip? I may have to stay sober!!! AAHHH!!! They add 3% to use your seapass card at the casino. Take casino cash. Yes, margaritas are close to that (I thought it was 8 something, but I may be wrong). Not much more than a nice upscale club in a big city. It is your vacation. Enjoy your cruise.
