kim826 Posted May 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2009 I have received a quote for a VT, but someone was saying this has a compact balcony. Can someone tell me about this category as well as category VF. The pricing looks the same. Do they have the same type of balcony? If it is a compact balcony, can two people sit comfortable on it? Thank you for your help!
RuthC Posted May 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2009 The VT category has what's known as a "Juliet" balcony; that is, it's more like a small place to stand outside a window. (Think "Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou...?) No, there is now way for two people to sit out there. Mainly because there's no room for a chair! There is room (barely) for two people to stand out there at the same time. VF balcony is a standard size for that category. Although not as large as a suite balcony, it is full size. taxmantoo Posted May 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 8, 2009 VF balcony is a standard size for that category. Although not as large as a suite balcony, it is full size. VF balconies are also at the front of ship and have a full metal railing, meaning that, when sitting down, one cannot see out on the water unless you are very tall. For a few additional dollars, book a VD verandah cabin at the back of the ship on the Upper Promanade deck. Same size cabin as the VF but with a bigger balcony. Bigger even than the more expensive verandah balconies on the deck above it. Plus it is half covered and half open.
kim826 Posted May 10, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted May 10, 2009 Thank you for your help - loved the Romeo/Juliet comment! I decided to go with a VD guarantee after reading your responses. My first dam cruise! :)
