sas80 Posted May 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted May 9, 2009 We will be in the Caymans in September and are traveling with 2 children, ages 1 and 3. We would like to find an independent tour operator who can help us plan a land based tour. We are thinking GC points of interest, some souvenir shopping, maybe the Turtle Farm, etc. While we very much appreciate the beauty of the island, and the beach and water activities, with the kids so young, it doesn't make sense right now. Does anyone have any recommendations on tour operators and/or things to do? Thanks

bookbabe Posted May 11, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2009 I don't think you're going to find a preset tour that includes all of those things. They're in different areas (the blowholes are at least half an hour, maybe a bit longer from the port in the opposite direction from the turtle farm, for example) and they aren't locations that are traditionally paired for tours. Your best bet may be to arrange a private guide for the day (either through one of the usual tour companies or at the port when you get off the ship) and have him/her take you to each of the locations in turn and wait. BTW, the blowholes are just holes in the rock along the shore where water spurts up when waves hit...unless you're looking to sightsee around the island in general, I don't know if they're worth the drive there just for a five or ten minute photo stop. And, it's a pretty rough climb down to see them up close...you'd likely end up just looking at them from the side of the road since you've got young kids with you.
