hang glide in vancouver??

Has anyone ever done tandem hang gliding in Vancouver Island? http://www.hangglidevancouverisland.com/

 

First, I just want to make sure it's perfectly safe and that many people have been doing this with instructor Steve Parson.

 

I only have one day in Vancouver Island, no plans of staying overnight, with plans of visiting Butchart and Victoria, do you think this will fit my schedule? The instructor says the site is one hour north of Victoria (probably mt prevost?) and it will take up a total of 2.5-3 hours.

 

Lastly, should we decide to push through with this, I'm concerned with additional expenses with renting a car (I think this will cost us 50 more plus gas?), plus we're not eager to drive in unfamiliar territory. Will taking a cab be cheaper?

It will add 5-6 hours to your trip, as you need to get there, do your thing, then get to Nanaimo (which at this point is now closer than the Victoria ferry terminal) and catch the ferry back to the mainland.

 

If you're interested in this sort of thing, you might consider taking an introductory flight lesson at the Victoria Airport. If you do this, you might even be able to get them to drop you back on the mainland (at Vancouver/Boundary Bay Airport) when they're done...... http://flyvfc.com/

I would avoid him at all costs. He has been linked too two deaths under his instructions. One young Greek woman died, when he failed to clip her in properly. A Canadian just died due to his poor instructions. :mad:

Secondly, the article you quote contradicts your own comments.

 

"There is no investigation under way into Mr. Trudeau’s death and there is nothing to suggest that Mr. Parson, as his instructor, was responsible."
