Anyone have any tips for the EOS?

Recommended Posts

We decided to book a last minute trip on the EOS leaving this Thursday. Does anyone have any helpful info with regards to this ship? Is there an adult/quiet pool? Can you sign up for the my time dining when you board the ship? Can you bring on water/soda? Any ideas for what to do in Nassau, is there good snorkeling nearby or a good place to get some food & drinks? Thanks for any info :)

There is a "solarium" pool--adults only (16+). You should be able to sign up for MTD, if the ship is offering it, and there are spaces available!

Yes, you can bring soda and water, but the water on the ship is fine.

Nassau isn't my favorite port---you can go to Atlantis and use their restaurants, shops and casino. If you want to use their beach, you have to purchase a "day pass"--costly, tho! We just stay on the ship and use the nearly empty pool----the ship is nice when everyone else is gone!!!

I took 1 5-day to Bermuda on the EOS so far. The Solarium area was regularly populated with teens-trying-to-be-adults, and was policed every few hours by a staff who would actually enforce the rules. Honestly though, I didn't really care that much since they weren't doing stupid stuff.

My Time isn't on this ship, as of last summer.

Avoid the golf simulator. They charge you for a really worn-down and crappy golf simulation. If you're into active stuff, hang out on the sports deck. The basketball court is really quite nice, and there's an activities director announcing tournaments, etc. throughout the day. Bingo was rather fun and popular. Mini golf was fun "under the influence", otherwise it was a rather worn down feature as well. Ping pong would have been fun if it were at all possible to contain the balls from going everywhere!

According to the RCI FAQ, you can smuggle on soda or water. I wouldn't flaunt it however.

If you like the beach, don't stay on board in Nassau. We go to the beaches near (but not IN) Atlantis, and they are unbelievably beautiful! Just ask the cab driver to take you to a beach where you can spend the day and near where there is food available. My DH stayed on the ship last time we went to Bahamas and he would have loved this beach we went to, so he missed out. It really is beautiful there!

ChristieNJ-do you know about snorkeling in Nassau? Could you go at the beach near Atlantis? Thanks :D

No, sorry. We didn't snorkel and you can get a day pass at Atlantis, which is what I want to do when we go back to Nassau next year. I don't know the specifics about the day pass, but I'll be doing research on it as my cruise gets closer.

Stuart Cove will have a snorkeling trip for you if you like. We stayed at Atlantis last year and it is beautiful. If you get the day pass they have a snorkeling area right inside the grouds. It is a natural pool that allows the fish and other creatures in from the ocean (not the really big ones though :D ) I think Stuart might suit you better as it is a dedicated tour. They can give you more info about what they do. If you go to Marina Village at Atlantis there are many restaurants there (and just outside of there as well) and some shopping without requiring the day pass. You can take the ferry over for a few dollars I believe.
